It's wheelspin and there about an hours worth of dyno runs on it (hence there's lots of different lines) . Much easier to see on this one  No wonder it flew :wink:dyno1.jpg

Forgive me for just giving a quick glance over this post, but so far Toby seems to be the first one to bring up this "magic word" of CALIBRATION

Is there any one particular company that calibrates ALL rolling road systems throughout the country or is it something that is installed from a manufacturer and then "tested" annually by some company who lives locally.

When it come to garages, I personally don't know the ins and out of how they operate. I am aware that brake rollers are tested by someone from the ministry or VOSA or whoever, so that must mean there is a set of perameters to be attained by MOT stations.

Does this extend to rolling roads :?:

Sorry if this has been previously answered, but I'm slightly tiddled at the mo

Can i just ask a silly question?

Wouldnt running the car in 4th bring a lower figure? CAn someone explain this to me? When my car was run on the rollers it was done in 4th?? :?

All ford boxes are 1:1 in 4th so you don't have gearbox losses cos theres no (almost no) friction lost in the GB. only in the axle where the force of the engine is "grinding" the teeth together.

Firstly Nice one to Boxxer  nice to see somone taking the time to actualy try something instead of theorizing about it

And respect to Steve for not only being open enough to put his figures out there for comparison but to also pay for it 8)

I will add that on one session i had on a RR, (a day long freeby fiddle and tuine up from a mate back in the early 90's), my engine ran soo much better at the end of the day but only gained 2 BHP over the fist morning run but it felt like a dam sight more than 2 on the road, re running it next moring it was 16 up, 18 in total, i guess running in the morning on a RR next to a river in august made all the difference
