Drinking ban

...For personal reasons i put myself on a drinkinig ban for a year,as a new years resolution kinda thing.

As of the 1st of jan 2008 i can drink again

 

The first three months were hard but after that twas easy and i dont miss beer at all,i do miss the odd glass of wine and maybe some Jack Daniels but hey i stuck to it and have'nt touched alcohol for nearly a whole year.

How proud of me am i

 

What should be the fisrt drink for me on new years eve (after midnight of course)

Good on yer mate, I stopped regular drinking over 7 years ago and have been much happier ever since. I am not tee total and have the odd drink here and there but its under control. Stick with it mate you can spend the money u save on yer osf

i only drink at xmas time

 

1st drink i had this year was at the xmas bash but when i was younger it was every night

why not put a blind fold on and have someone line them up for you and which ever one you pick will be your first drink

If you can last till 12 midnight the first drink you should have is a nice cool pint of guinness draft.

i think thats great, i never passed my test until i was 27 due to beer, the best way to stop drinking is build the car you keep putting off coz you cant afford it, when i was doing my escort, id think "time for a beer" but when i looked at the clock, it was 2.00 am!! problem solved!! still love a drink but keep it seperate from life! clean lisence, never had points etc! i reccomend guiness or a good red wine

I did a similar thing with kebabs a few years ago, I didnt have one for a whole year, then when I did have one again I was quite violently ill.... Hope this doesn't happen to you

I did my year off the beer,after midnight we opened a bottle of champers had my first drink (bit dissapointed coz it taste like crap) watched point break then fell sleep
