I spotted a brooklands coming towards me so i waved and because my Capri is a battered looking Laser i got blanked Surely we all have one purpose on here and thats restoring and enjoying old skool Fords whether its an Escort,Capri,Cortina whatever. My preference is Capri's i don't think i'll own an Escort MK1 or 2 because the prices keep rising anything genuine RS is morgage time, but that just goes to show what a popular car they are and what a rally legend they were, and still are as some people still use them Capri prices are going the same way and so are Cortina's so buy em now before you can't afford to i do with one guy in perticalur,he has a bog standed 1.6capri,mine is a v8 and he think's it's sh** has it is moded,the wife was chating with him before xmas and said about osf,and he more or less said that most of us is a bunch of to**er's for moding our car's,and are not keeping it true has it came out of the factory,my answer to this if we were all the same it would be a boreing place,and thing's like osf would'nt be here. i also think it dosnt mater what you drive just has long you enjoy what u have has it is horse's for corse's i own standed and moded car's like most of us,and get pleasure from driveing both

That massive bonnet is a like a big nob extension. If that's true, what does that make a Mk2 LWB transit then?? Well it's only got a short bonnet, but an awful big backside so errrrmmm, an arse extension? I think you are mixing them up with the Mk1, the Mk2 has plenty of bonnet....... FlashCadillac Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 i dont think anyone really looks donw on anyone but has there oppinions on cars I totally love mk1 capris!!! i dont mind mk3s, not so keen on the mk2s but i dont look down on the drivers, id love an escort... a mk2 more than a mk1 i think (i think thats because mk1 are so popular, i dont like following the crowd) i have a different kind of respect for people building mk1 cortinas, 100Es, 105Es, 107Es, early zephyrs and zodiacs... its like old old skool and there is more work in them to make them a more drivable car and i have a lot of respect the only people i look down on is the corsa/clio/saxo/206 drivers when i say look down.... i mean point and laugh
richie_stix Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 don't be confused between 206 drivers and 205 drivers.... 5 years ago, 205 drivers were part of the 'corsa crews' but now, the car is reaching maturity and so are the drivers... my mates got one and its only a year younger than my capri (it's the 1.9gti not some bull shit little 1.2 or something) and although its afflicted with fwd, (no offense fezza crews cos i love mk1 fezza's) it is a shit hot little car, and that engine, bravo to the frenchies for some serious hours flow testing everything! any way. back on point, someone made a good one about people not looking down on the model but peoples choices on that model, ie i own a capri and i hate to see gashed up plastic attempts at making it modern... for me the capri looks better the older you make it look (i.e chrome, simple bodywork, period wheels etc not just leavin it out in the shitty weather to corrode so it looks old)! love all the old skool fords exept granadas, they looked shit then and look shit now, sorry if this offends but urgh they look so standard! love little anglias
