it was two weeks after i won my class @ usc with 13.00000000000000000

 

same set up better track conditions took it off the trailer

1st run 12.7 second run 12.6 third run 12.5

no gas/slick's/an exhaust was fitted :thumbsup:

gaz i ran 12.9 with no gas!!

your gas is always on even though you never use it :roll: .

He keeps melting pistons but the gas is never on , smells like a gas problem to me plus he's always in Real Steel filling it up !!!!!!!!! :mrgreen:

you really are full of it i have never melted a piston , i knackered 3 spark plugs at 3 rounds because with the gas on my ecu was not retarding the ignition as it was faulty,,,and yes i do get my gas refilled at real steel ,,so what!! put up or shut up!!! and remember dont stall it on the launch incase your starter motor fooks up again!!! petty i know but at least mine is factual!! :finger:

PASSABLE CONDITION at the time of the run at Santa pod with NO GAS is 13.0 - 13.2 secs done by Dave college mk2 escort 2.3 mountune duratec 13.0secs , Dean watt Mk2 escort "tango" 2.1 W.P.E. atmo cossie 13.01 secs , Darran Moss mk2 escort 2.2 H.T. racing pinto 13.2 secs . Darrens and Deans cars were both stripped out,Darrens got metal boot and bonnet but was running treaded slicks,so not normal 175 road tyres like what you have on yours Gaz :lol::wink:

I done a 13.4 on my old 2.2 pinto with road tyres on it,back in 2000 :lol:

And that was with a 2.04 first gear,so not much good for off the line.

Yes darran and Deans and dave colleges are stripped but all complete for an m.o.t. , I'll come to the 100% complete ones times later :mrgreen:

Then you were up real steel refilling your gas after every meet so it looks a bit fishy to me :wink: . If your telling me you weren't spraying and can still sleep at night then that's ok :wink: . i'll be up the pod this year so you can race me if you like BUT i'll be checking your tyres and turning off your little blue friend in the boot !!!!!! :mrgreen:

i have never run slicks so you are miss informed and there was no gas on as i had used it and forgot to change bottles!!! as the 2 runs before were 13.04 and 13.00 is was pretty close and definatly obtainable,, i look forward to it!!! :D

Tony this is the on-line calculator (see bottom) I used to disprove my 200hp and prove my Dyno Devil day out 163hp :sad: - all the calculators come up with something different but...... your terminal, 110mph, was that without gas? Do you know the weight of your car.

 

I am not out to disprove anything you say I am interested in the validity of the calculator.

 

Do you know your hp at the time of your 110 - If you converted it to the Dyno Devil kind of a number?

But you keep buying bottles and bottles of the stuff even though you're going slower with it (or so you reckon) so i'm just asking that's all :wink: . So if you can run a 12.9 on street tyres with all the M.O.T. bits on , full interior and no gas with 185 bhp (at torque of the devil) /235 bhp (at northampton motorsport) then you'll be in 2nd position on the list after Kev16v's Toyota Starlet so the no1 fastest oldskoolford :thumbsup:

Ok heres a way to solve it yes iam aware this idea needs some tweeking around and could be a logistical nightmare!

 

But here goes.........

 

Sort the cars into groups

 

Quick road, ie like gaz interior seats carpet sound insulation etc And have engine classes like rallying to keep it at leased semi fair on all, have engine displacement classes 1100-1300cc 1300=1600cc 1600-2000cc then 2000-3000cc and have etc as a foot note this class should be mildly tuned tweaked engine conversions allowed, tuned but not mental bhp if you have full interior your going in this class oh and no nos slicks etc.

 

Fastroad, again simlar to above but with SOME not all bits missing and again different engine this time including an unlimited cc class also Superchargers and turbo's classes I'd even suggest keeping Bhp levels to 350bhp or less.

 

Street/strip/track, for road legal stripped warriors anything goes so long as its mot'd like Mr Puddy again with classes etc

 

Full on Race cars, again with engine etc classes for motors like Andys escort

 

Just a thought like may keep everyone happy.

 

Get retro ford along and let them be the judges, and act as officials and decide if the cars belong in the classes there in. Then test em on track, strip, and dyno. And if the cars are to go round a circuit maybe get them up against something like a super car, see how they fair against that and i think everyone is going to root for the osf even if you dont like its owner.which may act as a team building exercise to. Retroford or Classicford could cover it over several issues, could be a little like Redlines ten of the best, it may also encourage more new members to the site due to being in the mag.

 

If your car is a road car dont moan about track and strip your getting a hoon around without the police doing you.

Well i do sort them to something like that anyway Eckie so i know what you mean :thumbsup: We'll do a proper list on here later with all the times for each type of oldskoolford category so people know what they're aiming at . Hardly any fast comfy N.A. 4 cylinder street cars with full interor etc though so not many off those to sort out placings for :sad:
