bomber1 Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 nope i need to get one i think im gonna make up a little first aid kit full of spare bits and bobs that are likely to die and a small tool kit when/if you do, let us kno what ur puttin in there, cus im finkin bout doin it too.. i carry in mine spare points and condensor then a selection of screwdrivers. oh a 10mm and 13mm spanner. must get that tyre weld for bothe escorts as neither have spares or a jack/brace
bmxdave Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Im tempted to go the scrappy and buy a space saver. Ive got a 5" steel spare at the moment where the back seats should be (no space in boot) and i weighs a bloody tonne. Do Fiestas come with a 13" space saver? Or do they come with 15"ers with tiny tyres?

BIG G Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 i hav'nt got a spare either as im running 14s now and a 13 wont go over the front brakes as to big. was going to put a 14" spare but wont fit in the well. is there any ford that will have a space saver or shall i get a can of the dreaded foam.
Muttley MK2 Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 I run 7x13's with 205/60's on the capper, I carry a matching spare and had to modify the wooden boot floor to fit it in. Prob with space savers is limited speed (you never know how far you will have to go on it) and where do you put the full size wheel you took off?

I used it on BMX tyres and it didnt always work. And yes, i did fix the engine. It was one of those little rocker retaining springs. I replaced all 8 while i was there. I just cant get the tappets set right now.
Trevmk3 Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 wheel only if the worst came to the worst i woul try and ask someone for a jack and hope it fits the car, and wheel brace usually got tyre weld in the car, aswell as basic tools, gaffer tape, water oil ect
bigglesmk2 Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 I've got capri laser wheel for a spare,my car is wearing revo's. :Note to self: must put capri wheel nut's in glove box
richie_stix Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 i had a blow out on the motor way once, pulled over to inspect the damage... nothing bad, just the tyre gone, so i got the car all jacked up and took the fooked wheel off ready for the spare only to find i didn't have a tyre iron or anything to get the wheel nuts off! had to call out the AA, felt like a right penis!
c1arke Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 my cappa usely has most of the tool's in the boot with spare's,but it ever broke down yet and when the day comes that there's nothing in the boot it will brake down lol and bmx dave i have a brand new ford fezz (new tipe) space saver round the back if you pay the postage you can have it m8
