Guest MK1gaz Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Fixed my starter motor last weekend but couldn't go out in the car because the Mrs was on the war path about the D.I.Y. i haven't done . So tonight i've just been out for my 1st oldskoolford drive of 2008 and fooooooooooook me was it good . I've been all around the local area wooing the crowds . The engine is sounding awesome and i can't get enough of the noise , foooooooooook me does it sound good . Everyone whos building up a car at present just stick with it because it's worth it in the end . I spent all last year building mine and got pissed off now and then but it's soooooooo good now it's done and worth all the grief + expense anyday . Best of all i ripped off the lights on the bypass against some silly Audi TT turbo shite and his face was a peach as my old escort thrust sideways at 60 mph and blasted into the distance !!!!!!!! . ROLL ON THE SUMMER , lets ave it !!!!!!!!
russ105e Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Hope to have mine out again soon (car that is)
285Andy Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 hehe! you must be pleased gary! im just writing out a list of parts i need to get my old shed looking/acting a bit more like you'd expect a 100e too and its making me cring the list is soo long! not that i expected anything else though and theres all the stuff you forget to add! thats list number 2 to come later
petrolhead Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 I'm in a similar psoition Gaz, having just my xflow Mk2 back on the road. It only has 150bhp/ton but f*ck me is it good fun to drive. I love the noise, rifle bolt gear change, howling 45's and squirming back end. My two year old son loves it, he goes in the Navigator's position in a forward facing baby seat and he actually gets really upset when I turn the engine off (makes filling up at the petrol station a rush job).
Guest MK1gaz Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Nice one chaps . I'm still buzzing at the moment as just had a brilliant 2hrs in my car . This drive already makes up for the 12 months of laying under it trying to get all the bits to fit !!!!!!!

Guest MK1gaz Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 Yes stick at it fellas that's all i'll say . No matter how depressed you get don't quit cos once it's driving down the road blasting past the plastic nothing comes close . I foooooookin love it !!!!!!!!

Toby Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Took mine out last weekend too for the Premier run of 2008. It started first time, sweet as, on the newly meshed Brise!! Bombed up the local duel carriage way, found a TT owner too to impress He wouldn't move over, so I drew up next to his bird in the passenger seat and got a big smile off of her, all barking and growling, (the Cortina not the girl) Then on my way home 3 minutes later, found a "fast lane sitter" in a BMW so pulled up the inside of him too a got a big smile off his daughter in the passenger seat!! Put a smile on my face too!! As you say Gaz - stick with the work - it's the tits when they're going

aden Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 took mine out last sat 1st time this year, it aint as quick as some of you boys cars, but it still kicks the pants of most of the saxo/corsa crew, and it never fails to amaze me how many people stop dead in their tracks and stare oh yes i am the coolist cat in town
shaun1.6ghia Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 im workin away tryin to get it to paint then to mot, im so stoked an gutted at the same time, i just can't wait.. its killing me. its only 1.6 but still blows the 1.1novas off the roads.
jamie Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Can't wait to get my first OSF this year and have my first drive. Once I get it, I will introduce myself properly and put a few pics up. Sounds like you all are having fun with the cars! Enjoy 2008!
