ZetecVan 2.0 Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Enjoyed that. weird how sam died though Don't you remember he jumped off the building at the end of Life On Mars
baz105e Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 just watched the last episode of life on mars and tyler jumped off of the building then gets in the tina in 73' and the radio starts talking to him agen . In ashes to ashes ray said that tyler drove his motor into a river or something but his body was never found ! there's got to be somethin deeper goin on there! My brain hurts now
ann_capri Posted February 7, 2008 Author Report Posted February 7, 2008 and the fact he only died a year ago , so if ashes to ashes is set in "81, and mars finished in "73 , what happend with sam in the 7 years between ,as one of them said sam came back for a bit but how and when
ilovegrannys Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 MK2 Granny had a brief show. Loved it. there is a link on Retards Club. Its a bit geeky mind. i have put my input into it. You cant beat LOM but A2A is going to be good. Really funny stuff. Shame about the motor! OSF should of been the key motor - biased or what. i am going to miss five weeks worth due to being away out the country - again!
Admin Mk2Jo Posted February 8, 2008 Admin Report Posted February 8, 2008 It is a bit cheesy but I just love it .... "Fire Up The Quattro" I have to say though .... don't the 80's look dated were we really that naff with our hair and clothes
Admin Mk2Jo Posted February 8, 2008 Admin Report Posted February 8, 2008 repeats ? This is what I read on another website: BBC4 on Thur 14th at 10pm for repeats Not sure if it's true but that's what I read See here for more "anorak" info http://domeofstars.com/forum/
Smudger105e Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 and the fact he only died a year ago , so if ashes to ashes is set in "81, and mars finished in "73 , what happend with sam in the 7 years between ,as one of them said sam came back for a bit but how and when He went back to '73 and lived there for 7 years, so he died in '80, and at the start it was said that he died last year, so does that mean he was in his coma for 7 years also?
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 Part of the hook of life on mars was that we didn't know if he'd gone back in time, was mad, or was dreaming. This series, we do know, and so does she, so part of the mystique has gone. The music and decor was great though. It doesn't seem that long ago, and that's bloody scary...! I still enjoyed it and am still going to watch it, even though it will turn into the Gene Hunt Catchphrase Show. You. In leather. With that.... It gives me the horn. I agree with you totally Excellent choice of CHOOOOONS as well SHABBA

sab6024 Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 I really enjoyed it but I did think that Gene Hunt looks younger in 81 than he did in 73 I can't wait until we start to find out more about Sam coz it's gotta happen
FredTransit Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 I enjoyed it, but can't help thinking the writers have fallen into a rut with the formula, and it's become samey already. The thing about recreating an era on TV or film is that you have such a short amount of time to create the look, the result is a bit unnatural. They do seem to have learnt a bit though with the mistakes on LOM with the vehicles all being 'new'. Oh, and bitterly disappointed the star car wasn't an OSF
orionmojo Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 i was dissapointed that gene hunt has lost alot of his ballsy attitude. and most of the team. i know that attitudes changed but it was still really funny when he used to come out withhis sexist, racist and "old skool" one liners. in that episode he took too much shit off everyone. i want to watch the next one though , but as a rating....
baz105e Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 7,500,000 peeps watched it so cant be all bad
bigglesmk2 Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 When Sam jumped off the building and went back for the second time, then spent 7 year's there b4 dropping dead,it kinda leave's a door open for a future seires about the stuff he got up to in those 7 year's. Sam is probably sat in a coma in 1980 after being fished out of the river and his sub-conscious has been sent back to the 50's.That would be a quality cop show could even do it in black'n'white Maybe Sam could have a spotty rookie cop going by the name Gene Hunt. He's just joined the force and Sam teach's this guy everything he know's.What a twist, god im good Ashe's Ashe's......Errrmm,gonna be a grower me think's. That girl with the biggest mole on her face, were they having a laugh when they cast her with the name Molly. Molly Molly mole face
Daggle Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 That girl with the biggest mole on her face, were they having a laugh when they cast her with the name Molly. Molly Molly mole face I couldn't stop staring at that, I thought she had been eating chocolate

At the beginning the file that Alex had on Sam was stamped as suicide, So he cant still be in a coma. Also when Alex is sat talking to Ray she says that Sam was around for 7 years even though he was seconds away from death. She also says that supports her theory that she might have only been shot a few moments ago. (35m:50s) http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/item/b008y6pr.shtml
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 Yes Sam jumped off the building at the end of Life on Mars.
