sambo Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Had a bit of a totally irrelevant rant then. Sorry. Bad mood.
surfingturnip Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 I must admit it... this worries me a little! People saying that bigger wheels are goinf to be "in" soon etc (although i cant really talk as i have 16" ers!) and modern engines etc. An old skool ford is an old skool ford! keep it that way! People putting power steering in and IRS, and modern engines.... whats the point?? What next? Air conditioning? How about extending the dash with a big piece of plastic just to make it feel more modern! I personally love all the bone shaking and discomfort, the heavy steering and crude interiors. Noisy engines that looks old skool with carbs and dizzy's. Yum. aren't you running a cossie sambo? they're relatively modern

Admin Vista Posted March 7, 2008 Admin Report Posted March 7, 2008 I like things just as they are, a bit of old skool mixed with some new motors, big wheels, small wheels, old skool colours, modern metallics and a great mix of motors. What's to improve on? We're already there IMO
escysean Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Silver met paint Dark red leather interior with ali inserts Slightly tint windows Cool ICE system with DVD/PS3 Slammed on 15" steel wheels painted in gunmental grey met with chrome Ford hubcaps Audi 2.5 TDi with 6-speed g/box Tastefully or what?
capri07 Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 jap! all well and good putting a american v8 in a capri, which is seriously cool, but how about something like a lexus v8. still a v8 and very tunable
Pye Man Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 I think (or should that be dare I say) the sierra in its varios forms will become big soon. With the 2dr ones being turned into cossie reps.
russ105e Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Commercials Imagine a tranny on the floor in tights
jimbo Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Personally. I'm with Vista....We're already there..... Next big thing. Preserved Dagenham standards. We're all so busy modding (even I have succumbed ) that we're forgetting to leave behind a few of those standard 1100 pops in beige. And if you'll forgive me for being pedantic. Everyone's talking V8s. I think hydrogen all round. Ain't much black gold left to pull out the ground. I reckon petrol will hit £1.50/l in next 30 months. Wouldn't want a v8 in there then. Just a daily drivers perspective
jimbo Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Oh and hotpants........ Please let it be hotpants!!

FredTransit Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Mk5 cortinas ( i hope cos i'm delling one soon )I recon Diesels will be the new thing, turbo with LPG at least the exhaust will be flowing black smoke just like in the old days of stuck on chokes yeah, specially in London, just to give Ken a treat!
Gonzo Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 I do fancy putting a modern turbo oil burner in the Cortina, but Sambo would ave me guts for garters! Definitely right with the jap motors. Just watch out when I start building an R26B rotary replica!
young un Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 I reckon its gonne be pro-touring. Modern colours, spilt rims etc. The Aussies and yanks are already there. The younger generation are looking to our cars but arent really diggin the style. I listen to my 16 year old son, he knows the scene and our look, but always talks of a moonstone blue Mk1 on black split-rims and Focus RS lumps spun round. Im a die-hard south Londoner so will always go with crossflow/pinto motivation, small wheels and dont like anything outside of that box (how narrow minded), although appreciate the craftmanship in other styles. ..... always difficult to predict style. im going be keeping the osf i get old skool - ill be the young one that breaks the trend and goes back to all of the old ways
