Ratters Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 as above. does any have the deep steels on a mk1? just got mine back all painted up, still need tyres for them yet - £250 all in yokahama's. i just wondered if they would need spacing out or not?? & by how much?? & if it's worth the aggro & expence if they only need spacing 1/4 inch or something?? cheers
MightySprocket Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 I cant answer your questions but I reckon they are gonna look cool
hotrodholty Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 space them you fag!!!! thats what i like to see. straight to the point
bomber1 Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 na just get some 185/60s on there tho how quick do u need an answer? im going 6.5j steels on my mk1
Ratters Posted March 13, 2008 Author Report Posted March 13, 2008 cheers mike they're having 175/50's same as what's on the rs alloys now i'm not bothered about having to buy spacers but don't want to order some then find they are too little/much that's why i wondered if anyone else was running the wheels. the other option is to get tyres & fit them then take it from there. just means doing the job twice then though & i don't like doing that
mk1 kev Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 mi mate here is my mk1 on steels with 185/60/13. plenty of room [/img]

thesmith Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 i used to run steels sprayed black with 185/60 tyres a lot people liked them
Ratters Posted March 13, 2008 Author Report Posted March 13, 2008 ahhh cheers guys looking at those pics i'm gonna get the tyres fitted then bang the wheels on i think for now anyway. still got a bit of tread to use up on the rs alloys though does anyone know, do laser alloys use the standard 'steel' type nuts or the sleeved rs style ones?
MK2Ed Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 Yep, I like them... I remember getting rid of my old steels from 1600 Sport back in the late 80's cos alloys were the thing...
