Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Well after the last few days fiasco's, the time had come for me to do my first outing this morning. Pre flight checks were carried out, and off to work I went. I need to tune and balance the carbs, and sort the timing out, but it runs... I must have switched it off at the right time when the oil pressure disappeared. The big test is tomorrow, I will be flexing down to the Medway meet, so I hope there will be no knocking or rumbling while it's at 60/70mph. It caused quite a stir at work today, and some old boy stopped me at the shop this morning to chat to me, so I suppose that goes some way to cheer me up after all the grief I have had the last few months. Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted June 12, 2008 Author Report Posted June 12, 2008 Thanks for the crossed fingers folks... it worked I have just got in, the Medway meet was totally happening tonight, it was a wicked turn out. Anyway, I met up with 'Contract Man' and we both headed down there. Once parked up, a passing gentleman noticed oil dripping underneath the car. We have a little look and pit it down to the rocker cover... luckily enough, I had my 10 ton tool box with me and tightened up the rocker cover screws. A little while later, Paul (Pelvins) noticed it was still dripping & he said it looked like the sump plug, so I had a look. I know for certain that I checked that when I put the engine in and it was tight. Tonight however... it wasn't. The sod had undone itself about 3 turns But, that was the only problem, it goes like a little rocket... This was just how I expected my 1380 to go.
