Arh perhaps It's because I want to cover a vehicle rather than a driver/passenger

As it says on vehicle cover

Vehicle – Roadside is only available if your vehicle is less than 10 years old

I've just called them and they will cover it on the single cover, weird

Never mind sorted

I use Auto- Aid which is run by equity red star.

It covers the insured, not the car.....so any car you are in is covered.

The cost?....£36.00 ...... The catch?....not a major one, just that you have to pay the recovery firm up-front and then send the receipt in for a full refund. I suppose they hope people will forget.

I've used the service twice now, once to be recovered and once to get home on a wagon and claim the money back. Superb service all round

.....Don't pay for roadside cover separately.

I've got fully comp insurance for my Fairlane for £98 for the year with Footman James 08454586753 and it includes breakdown roadside cover with AXA assistance.

Hope this helps.

I have FC insurance on both cars with Business use and the Insurance company don't offer Breakdown Cover so I have to buy mine seperately. I'm with the RAC and it's pretty good

last time i had cover with the insurance company i couldnt get any help out of hours :evil:

Mines with the insurance comp through red star i've had to call them out twice in three years longest wait was 25 mins excellent service

As they get the nearest recovery truck comp to you they can to come and collect you , dont have to pay them ,

The one trip 160 miles must have cost the insurance comp twice what i payed for the policy , And it didn't go up the next year either

Can anyone recommend a breakdown company that will come to the roadside?

The AA won't as the car is too old

Your best bet is to just insure yourself, not the car. The AA comes out to our Mk1 and mk2 transits.
