Posse Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 Thank fook for that i nearly died when i saw how much a discovery would cost
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 So any car that was registered before 2001 is fine? Until they decide to screw up the price for anything in PLG tax band, yes. So my lreg will stay the same scott? It'll go up by whatever they've decided is the increase for PLG but I don't think it's more than £5 or £10. Apparently, so it has been said, in 2010 anything registered before the 2001 emmissions date will be going up to £400 a year. There have been articles in newspapers saying about the increase of sales in pre 73 classics due to their tax free status. How long before the government removes the 'Historic Vehicle' taxation class and start charging road tax again? I also had a good thought the other day with prices of fuel etc. They say they are doing it for the environmet blah blah. Well if thats the case, why is Diesel more per litre than petrol? Diesel has to go through less stages of refining, and you get more MPG per litre of Diesel than petrol. If this isn't an example of a government who lies and robs... I really don't know what is
sporty-corty16v Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 Total shite isn't it where the fook does all the money go tho? the over budgeted olympic stadium? definatly dont go on improving the road system more pot holes then enough, and if they do its normally the same bits

Supercharged Nat Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Well if that happens, i simply will become a law breaker, its about time we stood up to the robbing bastards, il do what ever it takes.......
bortaf Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Apparently, so it has been said, in 2010 anything registered before the 2001 emmissions date will be going up to £400 a year. You're joking?!?!?!? well it's been rumoured BUT there no substanciation to the claim , as usual just sumink someone miss- read somewhere IF the conservatives get back in they are thinking of coming into line with most of europe and have a 30 year rolling historic tax class (free) but that will meen we also have engine size related tx an pre 2001 car (like they do in S Ireland) BUT!!! only if they get back in and only IF they dont change thier mind Not that i'm botherd either way as soon as a sierra diesel turns up i'll be on the road in 1971 diesel (cooking oil), no tax, no congestion charge, no worries
pauln Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 What make me laugh is people wandering into dealers with 20k plus in their pocket and then winging about paying £450 to tax it. Get the hint downsize and spend the sayings on your osf. i have a year 2000 omega that chucks out 250mg/co2 so a year later would be in the big tax band, think it will be the last big car I own.
Tracey Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 I am going to sell one of mine when the tax goes up and get a diesel
