It goes buy BUILD date not rego date

check the build date you may find it was built before Jan 1st 73 ??

Just double checked that chap...build date is JAN 1973 according to the chassis number , registered 14.02.1973......as they don"t give the exact build date , surely i must be alledgable for FREE TAX !

Right , so who do i hassle then , DVLA ?

You have to prove it was built before 1/1/1973 so sadly you miss out by a matter of days mate

None of our cars will be effected as the newest car (and van)

we have got is an R reg Peugeot 406 and an R reg Iveco van.

With all these new taxes, are any of you gonna sell your cars and downsize/go for something older?

That's got to suck for you lot. Our Government over here are a bunch of useless morons who can't tell their arse from their elbow where as yours just seems to be a bunch of robbing bastards. It's not as if they don't take enough out of your pay packet already....

So any car that was registered before 2001 is fine?

Until they decide to screw up the price for anything in PLG tax band, yes.

So my lreg will stay the same scott?

It'll go up by whatever they've decided is the increase for PLG but I don't think it's more than £5 or £10.
