................do it your self, been converting my mates mk1 from auto to manual, the engine he brought was a bit of an unknown but we fitted it any way (1300 xflow) some one had just chucked the dizzy in so we sorted that but once we got it to run plumes of smoke out of the back filling the road, oh..........................sh!t we thought , rings? stem seals? head gasket?, no the mate in question was left with the simple job of filling the oil, so far over the max, 4 litres over ...........what a knob lol

a doris came to me once asking me why her car had stopped, it appeared that the engine was ceased. checked the oil and it was half way up the dipstick.

drained all the oil out, sucked some of the oil out of the cylinders, put the right amount of oil in and towed it to a start.

a month later she came back with the same problem and had the cheek to blame me, shed filled it up to the cap again and denied it!!!! :banghead::mad2: she carried on going mad and blaming me so i told her :upyours:

i explained to her the first time clearly not to fill it up to the top, i dont even know why shed put oil in, it was the right amount of fresh oil to start with!

The chap told me the doris rang him saying its overheating, he said ok turn it off and fill up with water. she rings back after filling up saying the car wont work.

She filled it up with water through the oil filler cap right to the brim

lmfao...

these are funny.

i did put a bit too much oil in the escy fri and suffered in huge puffs of oily smoke...

if my car was red i could have been mistaken for one of the red arrows.lol

too much oil can cause a lot of damage, if too much oil gets in the cylinders, it will cause a hydraulic lock because oil wont compress as much as air :P

if your one of the unlucky ones you can bend valves.

if i put 2 much oil in a car i would rather drop it all and put almost all of it back in again, unless it was only a bit over

the amount i go to, is scarey, to the brim one had her friend help her check, told her u prob need 1 can (meaning a litre) so she brought a 5 litre can and poored it all in with out checking, sister in law filled her power steering resivoir on her 306 with water because it was in the same place as her expansion bottle in her old fiesta turnt pink took 4 flushes to clear out, the list goes on and on and on

I filled a 07 plate 911 carrera 4s with 18 ltrs of mobil 1 instead of 8.75 ltrs.

Wasn't strictly my fault, dodgy metering gauge at work

Started and idled fine but when I gave it the bootfull down the slip road it was like an F1 engine letting go, big 'ol rooster tail of smoke followed by horrible clacking noises.....oooops!
