hotrodholty Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 with so many different brands out there now, im unsure what to go for, for my late mk1 escort, they all seem to be around £110 per pair give or take £10. what should i go for? the car will be used as a fast road car used everyday, so i want some that will last and take a fair bit of abuse, i also want them to be adjustable? what would you/have you got from the list above? thanks tom
vibrating_Cake Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 spax n koni are both a bit harsh!!! even on the softest setting, although personal opinion
Admin Vista Posted October 21, 2008 Admin Report Posted October 21, 2008 On various cars I have used Spax, Leda and Bilstein I'm not sure Ledas are readily available anymore but I liked them on my Mk1 3 litre capri, I've used spax on another car and have Bilsteins on my escort and alfa. Bilsteins for me.

I'm happy to acknowlege my limitations and don't want something that I need to play around with to find the optimum setting. Especially as with the above mentioned limited knowledge I'll probably make an arse of it anyway.
Fiesta Steve Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 spax n koni are both a bit harsh!!!even on the softest setting, although personal opinion Same as the Gaz on my Fiesta. Soft = stiff Hard = Fookin stiff
vibrating_Cake Posted October 21, 2008 Report Posted October 21, 2008 spax n koni are both a bit harsh!!!even on the softest setting, although personal opinion Same as the Gaz on my Fiesta. Soft = stiff Hard = Fookin stiff thats the one! i dont mind, i generally give it so much shit that the fact that im gonna leave the ground by a couple of foot doesnt bother me anymore cause even if i did have softer shocks i'd leave the floor.... it just makes the landing less painful on the back end lol
