evil knievel Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 superestimos are nice specially on mk3s. also caprinerd: 13's and, say, 16's wouldn't have the same tyres would they? 13s will be smaller even with big tyres. im not saying there the same tyres im saying the same rolling radius any body with half a brain cell knows you aint going to squeeze a tyre ment for a 13 inch rim on to a 15 inch rim whatim saying is if you put 16 inch rims onto a capri which had 13 inch rims then you compensate by fitting a lower profile tyre so the rolling radius stays the same so if the rolling radius stays the same how can you lose some of the acceleration of the capri, also by fitting the lower profile tyre your keeping the speedo with in the legal calibration take a 13 in wheel and mark the tyre at the bottom then do one complete turn of the wheel so the mark ends up at the bottom again, then measure the distance it has taken. do the same with 1 16 inch and the distance will equal the same so there is o difference in the rolling radius, so how can it alter the acceleration of a car thats the question i cant get an answer too alright chill out im just trying to discuss this why do you have to make me out as being a prick? and an 'uneducated youngster'. all i was saying is if you DIDN'T compensate the tyre profile than the rolling radius would be changed very slightly. of course if you did then it would be the same. i wasn't saying you were wrong at all. i wasnt saying i was right either, i was just trying to discuss it with people on this discussion board.
Stu_B Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 alright chill out im just trying to discuss this why do you have to make me out as being a prick? and an 'uneducated youngster'. Wher did you get that from?

Gonzo Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Google is your friend... Had to get on GT4 to remember what the bloody hell they were though. VERY tempted to invest in a set for the Tina though... obviously when funds allow, and I have a big brake setup to match 'em... Gonna go with 17's and low-pro tyres.
tt capri Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 I know you have made your mind up , but have a look at these they seem to be well liked by the comments What are they called, I got one in the shed, did have four until some t**t stole 3 off a Capri I picked up Cant see any manufacturers name or details on it and I wouldn't mind making a set back up. They are wolfrace turbo vecs , i was told they stopped making them quite along time ago , so you might have a bit of trouble sourcing replacements mate

bmxdave Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 alright chill out im just trying to discuss this why do you have to make me out as being a prick? and an 'uneducated youngster'. Im the one who said uneducated youngster, and i apologise. I wasnt referring to you. Most young lads say bigger wheels means bigger radius but i dont think they realise you can offset it using the tyres, thats all i meant. I like the RAYS 6 spokes but im not sure theyd suit an OSF. They need dish and slightly stretched tyres help and i think youd need them to be poking out of the arches a half inch or so to get the full effect so youd need to open the arches up a bit. I have seen them in 15" though on an AE86 with big tyres and they looked brill. Loving the Turbo vecs. Love the Lenso's too, i just wish you could get them with gold centres and i could justify spending that much on wheels. How about Ronal Turbo's or some Borbet's from the 80's?

caprinerd Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 ive always liked centre lines now i know their old but they still look the womans wobbly bits and i dont think they get dated at all
Guest chriscapriman Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 I know you have made your mind up , but have a look at these they seem to be well liked by the comments mmmm turbovecs on a mk2 capri, sex wee my 15'' minilites 205/50 are well heavier than the 13'' 4 spokes 205/60 that came off. they have a slightly bigger rollin radius aswell , means for 80mph @ 2700rpm so suits me. handles alot better and brakes dont fade as quickly is a trade off when doin the traffic light drag race but it'l still do this http://s220.photobucket.com/albums/dd25 ... cks012.flv
Retro-gone. Posted October 31, 2008 Author Report Posted October 31, 2008 lovin those wheels, never seen em before.
