FredTransit Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Why spent the billions making a new bus? What the fook was wrong with the old one? If you put a new hydrogen engine it it, it's a green as you can get. What can be more environmentally friendly than recycling an old bus instead of completely making a new bus? As for that crap about the disabled access, even with the new buses being able to be accessed by wheel chair bound passengers, when was the last time you saw one waiting for a bus? For the cost of completely replacing all the buses, you could give every disable passenger a TFL paid taxi account, and still have millions left over! It really pisses me off when they try to make the excuse that things like buses are phased out on environmental grounds. If the engine damages the environment (so they say) just replace it! Does the bus just standing there damage the environment? No. The seats? The tyres (same tyres as new buses)? The glass in the windows? No. What really damages the environment is MAKING NEW FOOKING BUSES, AND CHUCKING THEM AWAY AFTER THREE YEARS!!! Rant over.........
