stevepeanut Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 not really a transplant question, just curious, how come I've never seen an OSF with the RS turbo lump in?
Admin Vista Posted December 21, 2008 Admin Report Posted December 21, 2008 Maybe because it's a FWD CVH and there are better ways of getting the same (and more) power?
BaileyMex Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 Maybe because it's a FWD CVH and there are better ways of getting the same (and more) power? Think that abouts sums it up
285Andy Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 here's mine in a 100e.. not MFI though. its fiesta rs turbo power and also in 1.8 zvh form. waste of time??? maybe to you. not for me though. of course theres better ways to power but i aint got that sort of money so this is just perfect for me and so much more scope for future upgrades. it goes like a train and snakes the car up in 3rd gear without much hassle and not even flooring the throttle either i love it as always though, each to there own
YOUNGY Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 when i used 2 have rst,s every time i cained it, it broke
NeilT Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 got a mate with one a 100e van most admit it was quite a bit of effort to get it all working good. But its a nice little twist i think some thing a bit different
BIG G Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 great engine the cvh i had 200 hp and no hassles for 3 years thrashing
Billy_smith Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 my dads got a 2.1 ZVH sitting there for his cortina, its got a nice tr34 hanging off it aswell
over_head_cam Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 It would appear that the ZVH is a good option. looks cool in the 100e I reckon as a cheap upgrade it's got to be a winner? No?
mk1mexico Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 I think the main problem in RWD format, especially in escorts mk1/2, would be the bulkhead clearance for the distributor and the turbo.
Billy_smith Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 hes planning to cut the bulk head right back and use a mini heater just to clear the screen, and no i dont beleive a ZVH is very cheap at all. my dads ran 195 break oon the rolling road with the boost down sand a small turbo at 7psi so its got alot more to come should be fun
tarmacghost Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 heres mine ,was in classic ford march 2002 scottie
mk1mexico Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 I remember that, seem to remember the comment 'its easier to swerve than to try and brake!!'
tarmacghost Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 I remember that, seem to remember the comment 'its easier to swerve than to try and brake!!' yep thats the car scottie
danny69 Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 The turbo CVH is one of the cheaper ways to get 200bhp. My mate has a home built RS Turbo engine rolling roaded at 200 bhp. Didn`t cost much to achieve either. Standard valves bit of home porting, piper 285 cam and a bigger intercooler. There may have been more to it than that but not much.
bmxdave Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ above with an actuator and to help it a hybrid t3 and a remap and theres an easy 200bhp to be had.
