Edd` Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 Hi all, i purchased a mk1 escort today from margate in Kent, within about 5mins of leaving the previous owners house we got pulled over, apparently due to the high amount of old vehicles being stolen down that way. Its nice to see the police are actually doing checks to see if cars are legit on trailers, i know they wouldn't do that up my way! Just thought id post this up, mite be a bit of piece of mind for anybody down that way that the police do keep an eye out!
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 You have one man to thank for that and he's a member on here. He goes by the name of Daggle and he's a member of her majesty's Police force
FredTransit Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 That is very good news, well done Daggle mate. Please don't take what I am going to say the wrong way. How is it the scrotes get away with it? How do they take the cars and nobody sees anything? It's a mystery to me, as the police are obviously taking an interest.
Lotus 300e Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 Nice one Daggle, i'm from the South East so it's nice to hear any unusal movements are being checked
Daggle Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Just seen this thread, thank you for all your kind words, I do try and spread the word
Noodles Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 I got stopped In the estate at about 2am once just to check the car was'nt nicked I did ask myself why? But then relised it could have not been me driving it lol.
lotusless Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 i would have no problem being stopped in the old tina in the middle of the night, i wish more forces were like kent
Twinkle Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 most of the police in my area know myself and most of the other osf drivers in the area so know who the drivers look like and would be suspicious if there was a stranger driving! again in kent
Andrade Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 My brother had a mk1 2 door escort as his daily. It got stolen and he reported it to the police. They called him back some time later because someone reported a car which was flipped over in a valley not too far from home. They just said take it away from there or you will be fined for 'littering' - very helpful Now the gearbox he had is in my viva, and the k&n air cleaner is in his wife's fiat punto
FredTransit Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 The only time I was ever stopped was during the height of the terrorism (IRA, Canary Wharf ect). They only wanted to see if I had a bomb in the back
