BIGKEV Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 What would you think if someone said to you that your car was NOT an OSF? I would be very Pissed off Very Pissed off indeed. If someone said to me that my car should be on the banger track I would take that as a joke but not if I kept hearing it from the same people over and over again ! So for those who disagree tell me why you think that a MK2 Granada is NOT old Skool and tell me the reasons why you think so cos I want to hear this one!
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 Well, firstly, I don't dissagree. Obviously, the Mk2 will not be seen as the ultimate Granny in some peoples eyes, these narrow minded people will go for the Mk1. I personally love both the Mk1 & Mk2 Granada's. The Mk2 for me, screams Old Skool. It is big, steers with the rear wheels, has been styled with a ruler, and has a few Old Skool styling cues - i.e, Louvred rear lights and grille (Facelifted variant) The one I would love would be the very early 2.8 sports model, as this is my favourite, but even the later high spec ones had some gadgets. They have also had alot of T.V coverage. The later series of the Sweeney saw the rare pre-facelift sports model, George Cowley (The Guv) in the Professionals had one as a weapon of choice, and it also had big appearances in the 70's Disney film - "The London Connection" So, there you have it, these are my views for the Mk2 to stay Old Skool, and not end up being bangered
Posse Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 there deffo old skool i have had a bit of banter with elsumo in the past about it

Jelly Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 Anything old skool gets called a "banger" by people who don't understand cars. These people can often be heard saying that new cars are more reliable, and other stupid comments of this kind..
bortaf Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 Well they stopped making the Mk2 granny 3 years before the Mk3 capri so i recon it's old skool but i guess the final deffinition (pertaining to this site) is down to the guys who run it. Retromotorsport Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 Anything old skool gets called a "banger" by people who don't understand cars. These people can often be heard saying that new cars are more reliable, and other stupid comments of this kind.. When I had Retro Als car in , this bloke walks in asking about servicing his car ... i asked what it was and he said a Yaris .. whatever that is .. i said no, he then said the words that makes my blood boil..
