escortwithsunroof Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 sell the bikes, very hard to fall off a car and keep your scort, we've had our mk1 for 16 years wont part with her at all
Doc Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 I sold mine and ill never see it again ....... biggest mistake ever . break the cossie and put it into the escort , sell the bits and the bikes and get full atttention going on the escort
runty176 Posted February 12, 2009 Author Report Posted February 12, 2009 i have a spare cossie engine i was saving for the old girl , the plans were there but everytime i went to start it felt like i was cutting a piece of me , might haveto do it with another shell
bashbymk2 Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 if you are going to sell it you can defo get more than 4k!... but dont sell it
zetecmk2 Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 once you've got the new lump in, you'll be glad you didn't sell!! you will start to use her more and more, smile more etc,
sambo Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 It may be tough to cut up the escort but the end result will be worth it!!
cisco24uk Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 just put the mk2 up for sale - i think i am gonna cry .had her for 13 years why or how do we get attached to lumps of metal that cost us a fortune , many arguments with the wives & lots of pain!! Sell the wife easier in the long run
richie_stix Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Sell the wife easier in the long run amen!
FredTransit Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Don't sell. If you are not using her because you want the cossie in, DO IT! If that's not stopping you using her, (legalities like T&T aside ) what is?
runty176 Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 thanks for the comments guys , I dont know why i havent used it for a couple of years . i gave it a quick blast (up a private road ) today . It felt great to be rwd again . I think i am abit concerened about the whole credit crunch thing , being self employed & all that . Then just seeing the escort sit their gavering dust - Oh well i have started the ball rolling for selling her now . Have to see what happens - As long as she goes to a good home .
FredTransit Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Come to think if it, sell the engine, you will always get another one of those, drive the escort for a bit and I bet you will forget about changing the engine!
