countrybumpkin Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 i bought a 03 mondeo a little while ago and i'm now starting to think i like driving it more than my mk1 escort i cant take my escort out to test this thought as my escorts broken (needs a new caliper). i've never owned a new (ish) car before and have always used my escort or land rover everyday and its just so much easier and comftable to drive
Trevmk3 Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 more comfortable but not as fun fun wins over comfort
countrybumpkin Posted March 13, 2009 Author Report Posted March 13, 2009 more comfortable but not as fun fun wins over comfort thats the only thing that wrong with it, its not that fun to drive i can drive it a lot faster than the escort but i never feels fast
Trevmk3 Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 ive got a vectra as my daily but i prefer the cortinaeven though its slower and doesnt like corners as much
omj624p Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 We've just bought an XR3i Convertible! Is that dark side too, or just a bit grey?
Trevmk3 Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 think thats grey mate not quite dark, but nearly
Stu_B Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Don't worry.... I was impressed by my housemate's 1100 saxo after having a boggo anglia as a daily for a few months
stevepeanut Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 nothing wrong with mondeos, do everything with little fuss and great comfort
Retro-gone. Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 our lasses new fezza is a hundred times more comfortable to drive than my capri, but its a hundred times more boring too.
Mr Sam Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Don't worry.... I was impressed by my housemate's 1100 saxo after having a boggo anglia as a daily for a few months get out!!! my 1994 fiesta is nice and comfy and is nippy enough for me but it still dont beat the old mk1 fezza the old just seemed so much gruntier off the line and sounded the nuts too
mk1super Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Dont feel guilty mate i got a go of a sport ka and it was fun make a great daily hack and just as tinny as me mk1
BIGKEV Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Don't worry.... I was impressed by my housemate's 1100 saxo after having a boggo anglia as a daily for a few months
Copey Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 ive got a vectra as my daily but i prefer the cortinaeven though its slower and doesnt like corners as much i have a 2ltr vectra as a temp car while my capper is gettin a resto, i cant stand the thing, its slow, it rolls about, it slides about, its not comfortable and its got no feel to it in the slightest i want my capri back!!
YOUNGY Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 i've got a transit tipper i hate driving its a bag of poo, my scoobys comfortable fast and reliable but i still prefer driving my 1600e and my eldest boy thinks its more comfortable and both my boys prefer going out in my tina.
sab6024 Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 I'm sorry to say I am selling my OSFs and just ordered a Ka TDCi although Ford balllsed up and can't deliver for another 2 weeks But that's more to do with costs and reliability tbh
steve mk2 Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 ive got a hybrid civic as my daily driver love it to bits it so comfortable and spaciouse and i get 550-600miles for 45 quid. but not one of them miles are adrenalin smiles. its been a year and a half since ive driven a escort i think i may have forgotten how
stickerboy Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 YES it's Ok being comfy in a 'newer car' but just look at the smiles it puts on your face when you get in your OSF.
capriz Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 Nooooooooooo osf all the way ive got a mk3 golf diesel as my daily hack just gets me to work and back i treat it like crap so i dont ruin my precious osf you cant go sideways in a mondee or vectra
jaymk1cossieestate Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 sorry all but my daily driver is r32 gtrt skyline.. ( sorry jap crap) i have only got it deal with my m3 convertable... hope i dont get banned now .........
antz Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 I have a Volvo 240 estate. Its alright but after driving that for 5 months and drivng the escort I was terrified for the first 30 miles. Now im sued to it again and starting to enjoy it
stevepeanut Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 My daily is a mazda B2200, big nasty pickup truck with no powersteering. Its loud, unfomfortable, hard to drive, with a rattly noisy low powered diesel. The mk2 escort actually feels nice and civilised and comfortable after driving the pickup.
Boreham Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 sorry all but my daily driver is r32 gtrt skyline.. ( sorry jap crap) i have only got it deal with my m3 convertable... hope i dont get banned now .........
