Chud Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Just like to say a HUGE thank you to East Kent Trims for there excellent service. Only rang them up yesterday at around 1 o'clock and my PUKKA new front quarter light seals and rear quarter rubbers arrived at 8.35 this morning! Brilliant service and very friendly on the phone, have used them before for other trim bits on my GT and have never been dissapointed with their service or quality.
nelly231 Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 Couldnt agree more! i bought some window rubbers for the escort last year. the guy was very helpfull on the phone and everything came next day as promised. If only all businesses were as easy to use !
escortwithsunroof Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 i recommend them too, great great people
stickerboy Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 I'm just about to order a set of rubbers for my Mk2. I have had stuff from them before and had good service. These guys do like a beer as well. Saw them the night before Ford Fair last year and were a bit 'tipsy'. Keep up the good work.
Fast eddie Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 great service, rubbers are crap!, mine only been in for 18 months and all the corners have split, wish i keeped the original ones!
rebelmc Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 hi i bought rs2000 windscreen rubbers recived after a couple of days the mitred corners were already parting so i politely rung them up they told me "to glue them with locktite"i said your haveing a turkish!bearing in mind there £45 each i would expect something better so they wouldnt send me a replacement!so i had to PAY TO RETURN THEM MYSELF only to be sent the same rubbers back a few days later with locktite smeared in the corners and they still wasnt stick proper when i fitted the rubber to the window they ripped open!!so by this time i rang them up again onlt to be talked to like an idiot insiting that i damaged them myself !!!i only fitted the ruber round the glass for christ sake after threetening to personally hand deliver the rubbers back they sent me down new rubbers 4 days later guess wat still ripped!!!!!!i didnt bother even contacting the clowns with fear of committing murder i will never use them again i dont now if i was an exception cuz everybody speaks so highly of them but wasnt attall happy!!!
Copey Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 ordered a set of door strips off them for me capper, nice to talk to and deal with and the strips look good quality and came very quickly
JP. Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 Do business with them for several years and are very satisfiet with their service and products.
caprinerd Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 i ordered a screen rubber from them and told them it was a mk3 capri and the first thing they asked was does it have a sunroof great to deal with and s**t their quick as well ordered monday tuesday banging on the door with said rubber
lead foot Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 i have used them a fair bit and i have never had any probs.
john_3.0s Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 i bought door seals and weather strips for my coupe and both were rubbish. the 'moulded' door seals were just a length of ( not great quality) seal i had to cut and mitre myself and the weather strips were a completly different profile to the origianls to the extent they dont tough the glass! i personally wouldnt waste my money with them again unless there was no other option.
antz Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 I ordered the chrome gutter trim for my escort from them. wasted one trying to get it to fit and the other one too that long and was that bad a quality I left the other side. wish id left them both as the original ones as it looks shit now
Grey Crayford Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Used them for seals, channels & scraper seals on my crayford 'tina a good few years ago, (1998 I think!!) fast delivery, fitted well & seemed to last pretty well. No complaints. Will use them again on the 'tina & the capri.
DanV Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Thats a very mixed set of experiences Looks 50/50

kevmk2 Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 My brothers rear quarter window rubbers have split in the corners, and one split in half when fitting it The front and back rubber went brown after a few weeks too. Not very good quality at all in my opinion. I'm glad i have got original rubbers on my car, just a shame they are so hard to come by now.
Type49 Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Hubby Dean was sent Mk2 Capri rubbers instead of Mk1, he called to get them changed, they spoke to him like he was a fool and made him pay the postage to return them!! Took them 3 weeks to resend correct set - not a great fit but ok. At least a year later I contacted them to get rubbers for my Mex, needed them quickly so I could take the car to a show (possible heavy rain), they agreed to send them out in time, but didnt and when I called them they spoke to me like crap. Never got them for another week! - rubbers fit ok, but not very nice people at all in our experiences, will never use them again
DanV Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Thats a very mixed set of experiences Looks 50/50 Spotted similar posts elsewhere so the question is who do you go to Exactly! They kinda got monopoly there havent they? There is no competition so i guess they can afford to let standards slip I need a complete car set of rubbers, seals and window channels and im not liking this thread much!!

DanV Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 They are a trimmers arent they? Dont think they do rubbers and seals
mk14dr Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 They are a trimmers arent they? Dont think they do rubbers and seals Doesn't look like it does it from look round on the website. I have to say, Ive needed 4door seals for the escRot for a while now, and Ive been putting off ringing east kent trim after reading a thread not too dis-similar to this maybe a couple of years ago. Ive been actively looking for alternatives, but alas, it looks like there isn't one. So the phrase 'grin and bare it' comes to mind. Although I do find it difficult to believe that we can't a) have some influence over a company that, as a group of enthusiasts, we must be a reasonable percentage of their turnover we dont have the skills on here to produce/know someone to produce trim/seals/etc to the required standard forcing EKTS to up their game. Just my opinion though So anyway, I need some door seals for a mk1 escort. Where would you get them from??
jimbo Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 They are a trimmers arent they? Dont think they do rubbers and seals Doesn't look like it does it from look round on the website. Look harder guys They are on there. The availability of each type of seal does vary between models. If you're really having no joy with navigating the site, give them a ring
DanV Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 When the time comes i think ill ring them before i ring EKTS. I can get the window rubbers from the sidevalve owners club but its things like the window channels, door and quarterlight rubbers that i cant find any alternative for
surrey_100e Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 i got all my window rubbers for my 100e from east kent trims, they fitted fine, great service too
Grey Crayford Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 I've also used Aldridge trim (they're based not far from me) for the interior panels & custom work on the latest rebuild of the crayford. Top quality workmanship, great service, friendly staff & yes they also do seals, channel rubbers etc. Well worth a try.
