I've tried googling it, but does anyone have an idea as to how many Harriers are left, in both Silver and white?????

All I can find is there was 1500 originally built using 1600 Sports

not exactly sure if this info is true but i read on this forum that last year there was only only 480 odd harriers registerd to owners clubs in the uk,not sure how many of each colour, and there was fewer silver cars as the metalic paint was slightly more expensive :)

Theres got to be more than 39 floating about I'd imagine, but as the shell is the same as the sport and most (including mine) were registered as 1600 sports I expect theres a few replicas about.

This one on ebay looks very nice but what a price!

Am I correct in saying that the Harrier is a two door mk2 Mex spec shell with a different paint job and decals?

If so they must be the toughest of all OSF's to tell an original from a lookalike!

depend's, ford used mainly 'sport' shells, but ive heard that a few had a mex shell. The ONLY diffrence (99% sure) between a completly standard shell and a harrier is the spare wheel bracket. Due to the harrier having Alloy's and not steel wheels the spare wheel bracket is in the same place as the rs2000, and mex. (ill get a pic showing this when i next go to the garage  )

other things it has is, fishnet recaro's and rs rear seat, ghia/sport dash, 6j alloys, 1600GT engine, standard door cards, brown tint glass. also were the same ride hight as the RS's

also they came in dimond white, and platinum silver/ stratos silver. with the blue three stripes. ALSO there seems o be 2 diffrent shades of blues, one has a Green stripe at the bottom, and one has a very light blue. ive been told that blue is correct.. not 100 tho.

also, YKT you want it !!! VERY nice car

o and ive heard of 1000 whites and 500 silvers - making them rare than the rs's bar the rs1800 at 108

wow that looks very nice 8)8)

.

Personally I think that is a fair price considering the condition and now the rarity of the cars, proper collectors piece they have become.

Would love it 8)

they were just part bin cars, use up the rs trim left at the end of production, ford used to excuess for the model from there RAC rally wins

Did they have remote adjustable drivers mirror as standard? Mine has the mirror but the door cards have no hole for the adjuster.

I suppose that silver one is a fair price if its mint. When I brought mine i was just really after a good Mk2 2 Door to build up and as such when the harrier came up I paid what I would have paid for a standard shell'd car in that condition with those bits on. Im glad ive got one now but at the time I didn't think they fetched that much of a premium

sadly most people changed the colours, sprayed them, smashed them up etc

Mate of mine in Bridlington had one in the late 80's when they were in the "scrapyard shed" phase. Went up a roundabout on the way to Scarborough, knackered the sump and crossmember. Just scrapped it.

Yet another in a long line of "If I'd known then what I know now..." cars.

one of my m8s scrapped one in the 90s as it needed a small patch welded at the strut top

My mates brother got a silver one back in the very early 90's, really good clean condition. He paid £375.00 for it, Pretty cheap even back then-for one good reason, the day after the log book arrived so did the constabulary, the harrier had been stolen from B'ham 8 weeks before.:sad:
