After a lot of aggro ive finally got my Compomotive Turbo split rims built up and on the car, just in time to go to wheels day :D

They measure up as 7.5x13 on the fronts and 8x13s on the rear, with 175/50 tyres all round.

A bit of blatant self indulgence posting a thread up about them i know, but just wondering what people on this site thought of them?

Love this post ... as for years i've been saying you can get 8" wheels on standard cars, and been mocked.. and always giggled to my self when people say " whats the standard offset of an Escort as i want to fit 7" rims " ... ie , the standard offset for a set of Non Standard wheels ..

so well done to you for being different

Thanks for all the positive comments guys

Im not sure what was first - the compos or the Ronals, lots of different manufacturers have produced similar wheels to these.

Compomotive sold the design to Schmidt who sell them as TH-Lines in a massive range of sizes and are very popular in the VW scene. They dont have the lettering though, so arent quite as cool

Must've looked amazing in 10" on your rod dude!

As for 8s on the back, they just fit, we've had to roll the arches and pull them ever so slightly. Its all about the right offset tbh. These have got a relatively high offset, not sure on the exact number, but i think its around 20-something. I could probably measure it if anyones interested?. Ive used 5" inner rims and 2.5" outers (the centre is half an inch wide).
