tim Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 As old skool ford is reaching its second birthday (26 July) We would like to move old skool ford up a step from just being a forum. 1 idea we have had is to create old skool ford plus which allow member to exclusive offers from our sponsors, members only merchandise, reserved places on old skool ford stand and meet such at Classic ford show, ford fair and ace cafe and have a greater input into old skool ford. This featured would cost but the amount is yet to be decided but wont be more than a nights worth of stella and will last longer than the next days hangover. This is still an idea at the moment in its early stages and your feed back and ideas are greatly welcome.
perry Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 id be up for that YFKT about time we started giving back
105Ian Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 Sounds a great idea as a discount on parts will be a great benefit for loyal members.
tim Posted March 16, 2006 Author Report Posted March 16, 2006 how much would you guy be willing to pay for such membership
perry Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 how much would you guy be willing to pay for such membership can you lend me a few quid m8
Danmex Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Think going rate is about £20-30 a year. I've paid more before though and got less than I allready get on here.
Admin Mk2Jo Posted March 16, 2006 Admin Report Posted March 16, 2006 Can you give some idea of what annual amount you would be willing to pay: £5 - £10 £10 - £15 £15 - £20 £20 - £25
caprifan Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 ...good idea and has to be the way forward with the amount that websites unfortunately cost to run...I will happily pay but we need to make sure that everyone knows that they are still just as welcome whether they pay for the extra or just visit...
Pipster007 Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 I think £10 would be OK for starters, then it can be revised later on in the future. I pay £25 with another club and for that you get a monthly mag, so that has to take into consideration printing costs etc. (at least we have Retro and Classic Ford to read, so no monthly mag needed for us). They also pay for officials expenses (fuel to and from events) when they are officiating events, ie marshalling, judging etc. Admin charges. AGM meetings, as they are an official registered club. Marquee for the events. They normally do send us a complete breakdown of every penny that's spent throughout the year and where it goes to. There's a lot to think about...........................And then some I know the first item needed is a server and they can run up a pretty penny
Admin Mk2Jo Posted March 16, 2006 Admin Report Posted March 16, 2006 The idea of a this is not only to try to generate some revenue to help Darren to continue to pay for the running of the site but to make OSF even bigger and better than it already is. We DEFINITELY DO NOT want to exclude anyone at all ....... the intention is to allow access to the whole of the site for everyone but to allow "Plus" members certain discounts and opportunities (exact details yet to be decided) not afforded to other normal members.
Tom Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 has anyone else got any more thoughts on this? come on guys we need to know what everyone thinks
Mr.Sumo Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 As i have said before , this site is the bo£$ox , and has done more than enough to help me with my purchase (s) and help with my OSF cars , so ....I"m in.....how much , when and where do i send my dosh too
Tango Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 Count me in, cost irrelevant really although £20 sounds more than acceptable. This site has already given me loads of fun, info and most importantly got me back into the cars I've missed driving for years. Its even proved to be a bit of a friends reunited site for me, putting me back in touch with a couple of guys I lost touch with and hadn't seen since the mid eighties......................... ..................COUNT ME IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest M.Bird DOHC Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 I dont think anyone would argue with around 25 quid a year, especially as it'd mean we could get that server we so need so the site doesn't keep goin down! No offence to anyone who isnt, but with the amount of hardcore members who are commited to the cause we should easily be able to raise enough cash to get the server at least! Like pipster said no ones gonna miss 10 quid! And if things progress as they have and the site countinues growing at this rate then we'r have no worries raising enough cash for a huge marque (big tent thing) To use at shows and maybe even a huge bbq..... the options are endless! Alot of people live for this Site! So lets support it and open our wallets! Bob may need help with his!
S2 Dee Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 The guys at the UK S2000 club did something like this, I think it is about £20.00 a year. It is money well spent, I saved myself at least £200.00 in the past year with the insurance and tyre discounts alone! I'd gladly fork out for OSF+. This place is the business as it is, a big thanks to all those that make it happen. Dee
marky4 Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 great idea I'm quite happy to pay any up to £25-30 a year

BIGKEV Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Im up for it - Where would I be without OSF... ?
