jimbo Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 Simple thermodynamics....... Less calories in than are burnt off, and you're on your way.... Take it form me.........I'm a weight loss expert (and a weight gain expert)
Supercharged Nat Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 balance the calories you take in to the calories you burn- eat more than you burn and you get fat. eat less than you burn you get thin.. cutting down on fatty and high calorie/ empty calorie foods will give you a bit of a head start. also cutting down calories, increase activity. that way you take in less and burn more. the more muscle you build the more calories you burn by simply sitting on your arse watching tv eat healthy, do exercise for at least 20 mins a day (carido types- running cycling, rowing, boxing etc) and youl start to see the difference. if you starting putting on weight, whats changed to cause it?
mk1mexico Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 I walk to work now (15 to 20 mins) and it makes a difference without even noticing your exercising. if it rains it makes you walk quicker and burn more calories
mk1super Posted May 6, 2009 Author Report Posted May 6, 2009 if you starting putting on weight, whats changed to cause it? Was off work 6 months due to a hand injury (Got crushed when a gearbox landed on it )

Stu_B Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 I run about 5 miles twice a week & do a few press ups & sit ups most days, plus a few weights when I get a chance.... had to buy a load of smaller jeans but believe me the belly is hard to shift
evil knievel Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 as people said, the general rule is Calorie Deficit helps you lose weight in the fact that you are burning more calories than you are taking in. To gain WEIGHT (which is not neccesarily fat) then you would need to be taking in more calories then you are losing. Write down what you eat in one week and see what a 'normal' sort of day is, then check out how many calories you ate on this website.... http://www.caloriecounting.co.uk/resources/intro.htm Personally I am taking in more calories than I burn, so that I gain weight. Now 15st with hardly any fat on me!! Although my diets gone downhill a bit since Wheels USA but I'll bring it back!! hope this helps
Stu_B Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 I like Burgers I like burgers too, and cakes & beer... I'd be the size of a house if I didn't do some exercise cos I sit on my ass all day at work!
