Spliiting hairs I know but not strictly true, the early prefacelift mk1's only had bulges on the 3 litre models, 4 pot models had a flat bonnet.

 

As to silly comments / questions people ask, who cares? It doesn't bother me and after all as they're not into them the same way we are they're bound to make mistakes.

My bug bear is every show and i mean every show I open the boot and some one has to say (pointing to my dry sump tank )

No Its a dry sump oil tank

Then i have to explain dry sump oil systems some times 10 times a day

 

So I stuck a jack Dannels sticker on the oil tank lid

 

 

Now I get asked

 

"Is that NOS mate"

 

No its a whisky still its full of JD

 

then they walk away looking puzzled
