also this week things that have annoyed me include people asking

 

"why is your mustang so small" well if your eyes and brain engaged enough to read ESCORT off the back you'd know why!

 

also people saying "ahhh a cortina, i used to have one of those"....cure for that one is the same as above!

funny you should say that, i had a huge argument with someone in the BP garage who said "nice mk3" i was like "its a mk2 mate" and he was like "nonono its a mk3" and i was like "yea good move, argue with the cars owner about what it is...."

someone asked me "why doesnt it have a camshaft..." a week or 2 back as well....i just palmed my face and nearly cried in despair, then tried to explain the basics of a pushrod engine to a nova driver, he didnt seem to understand, but then he was stupid enough to spend over £3000 modifying a 1.2 litre engine....purple nova saloon on 17inch oz's with blacked out windows and a stupidly tuned up 1.2 that apparently breaks every week....not cool!

i got that with my mk1 coritna, a bloke came up to me when it was on my drive, he said 'nice austin' i said 'its a mk1 cortina', he went' no its an austin' i was rude and went 'fu** off'

yeaa i always thought all cappers had bonnet bulges, lady i bought my mk2 escort off had a 1.6 capri and even that had a buldge and the bodywork was all original.

 

seriously can't believe someone would argue that you're cortinas an austin, the FORD badges and the CORTINA badge are a dead giveaway its an austin....obviously!

 

i still laugh when people think mines a cortina, it clearly says "escort" in big letters on the back, are they blind or just plain stupid?

Spliiting hairs I know but not strictly true, the early prefacelift mk1's only had bulges on the 3 litre models, 4 pot models had a flat bonnet.

 

As to silly comments / questions people ask, who cares? It doesn't bother me and after all as they're not into them the same way we are they're bound to make mistakes.
