danny69 Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 This is my JPS Capri, standard and original interior but with tuned engine, suspension mods, revos and a front spoiler which wasn`t available until a year later. Hope you like. 1
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 very nice i do like that
gmrvic Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 Mk2 looks better with front spoiler, imho. Great car
over_head_cam Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 Superb mate. The spoiler looks so right
danny69 Posted August 28, 2009 Author Report Posted August 28, 2009 Cheers Guys I couldn`t have a mk 2 without the fibreglass "S" front spoiler, they just look naked. IMHO The engine bay shot was taken by a professional (Nick Simmonds) up at North Weald drag strip. If you notice he even photoshopped out the bonnet stay!!
pimpmyanglias Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Well nice my Dad had one the same years ago when they were newish
redrocket Posted August 30, 2009 Report Posted August 30, 2009 That's class looking! Engine bay looks minty
JAY PS Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 very nice sir, always wanted one of those as that my initials
danny69 Posted June 15, 2010 Author Report Posted June 15, 2010 While everyone else with a capri was down at bromley Pageant I went up to North Weald to give it another go on the 1/4 mile last Sunday. I have now wired an Omex launch rev limiter into the handbrake so I can hold the revs steady at 3800 until I release the handbrake and then I have got up to 6400 until I hit the upper limiter. I also found a bit more power by adjusting the timing from 13 BTDC to 10 degrees BTDC. The upshot is that I managed to run 3x 15.3 second passes at 92 mph which is not only consistant but pretty quick too. Just another 0.4 to find to dip into the 14`s!! Not sure how I am going to find that though, as I won`t be taking out any of the interior. Below is a phone vid of me warming the tyres at the May meeting.
grifterkid Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Holy shot...!!! That is an insanely tasty piece of steel...
danny69 Posted June 19, 2010 Author Report Posted June 19, 2010 Thanks for the nice comments Here are a couple of pics from North Weald that I found on Retro Rides.
Kieran Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 Nice See your giving the Aston a run for its money
