MK2Ed Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 what are you doing(or intending to do) to your osf over this autmn/winter time?? for me and my mk1 cortina 2 door- fitting all the repair panels in this includes, full sills both sides, inner sills both sides, putting a new front panel on, putting and repairing both wings, putting a new door for the passenger side on,both arches need doing, both lower corners, spare wheel well, boot floor, rear valnce, jacking piitns, outriggers, finsih welding up the drivers side chassis rail, and fabricate a new passenger side chassis rail, oh and then lining up all the panels so they are spot on, and then priming it and getting it rolling.... will it ever be done? Yes, someone's going to have a busy winter... I've got a challenging task list of measuring up for a new set of rims and maybe fitting them if I get time... I'm sure other bits will crop up thou like general maintenance that these old cars require and the whole thing will need checking over after last track sesh ...
deltamal Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 Got a few rusty bits to sort out, nothing major, keep looking for a pair of 15" 5 (or 4) spoke Revo's.....
trakevlyn Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 A few rust bobbles need attetion, fit new steering rack+ends, new crome trim round windows and if i get time strip engine of auxileries and generally clean and tidy up engine + bay

james1700 Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 im mainly going to be polishing mine. although i might get off my arse and try finding some decambered leafs and an LSD to fit if i get the chance
Russian Bear Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 Ive sold the V8 i was hoping to get in the zephyr so im lookin to go Cosworth v6, got a volvo 240 back axle to put in, bought a full wiring kit from the sates from rebel wire www.rebel-wire.com to fit, do (quite) a bit of welding, change the car from more door to 2 door and a repaint...not too much then
EscortHeadCase Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Mines off the road at the moment so its all starting now basically. Im losing the 38 off my standard pinto and going bike carbs. so gonna strip the interior out, wire the pump, re route fuel lines, sort throttle linkage. After fitting 15s need to raise the front up from -2 to -1 springs. New discs on the front. New half shaft bearings, Then i need to choose between the 3.54 ,3.77 and 3.89 diffs and then put the slipper in which ever i choose. Then hopefully that will be all of it. However ive got a mk1 1.6 GLI drop top golf project thats gonna need some attention.
stuartp Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 still got a little bit of water coming into the footwells when it rains hard so will be trying to sort that, then a little bit of welding to sort out where the passenger seat attaches and i should be able to finally put my beautiful new brown carpet in. need to fit the headlining and some trim too. Still need to work out how to attach the pretend wood trim to the doors and in the back on the sides. will probably replace my door cards. tidy up the dash switches (new ones maybe?) and get the foot windscreen wiper/ washer thing to work. fit the centre console to the floor properly basically all interior stuff so i don't get rained on
sambo Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Fitting a new engine Tidying up the interior (might get a flocked dash???) Fitting some door cards Stopping the inner door frame from flexing and fitting some blooming door handles! Getting the axle shortened and i hope to fit some lovely, sexy period wheels ( although i cant decide on which to go for??) Sorting out the brake bias Fitting some locks. Plenty to do then!!!

Trevmk3 Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 i should be chopping the orange flakey bits out of the bodywork with any luck this winter and if i pull my finger out and get it done then i may pull the engine out and play with that a little this is all dependant on me knucling down and getting it done so it will probably stay as it is for next year
