This is an interesting thread! On the subject of unusual stuff and fleet models etc, Ford did advertise a taxi spec Mk2 Granada, got it in a brochure somewhere.....Also, I seem to remember that Ford UK did try and sell the Fairmont and Mustang II in the UK. Seem to remember seeing a brochure for those a long time ago. Vaguely recall seeing a fairmont station wagon running around locally when I was younger!

2.5 oh how nice that would have been, 2.1 and slow as a steam roller :lol:

They had a panic button on the floor to sound the horn and lights which you foreverer set off if you had big feet but they didn't have C/L as part of the spec, or at least the ones i worked on didn't  had one for a week while i changed the gearbox and clutch for a cabby while he was on hols, shitest, slowest pile of crap ever

Would that have been an orange one in the Wimbledon area..Haydons Road in the early 80's if so know that well was my ex birds uncle...well cool car. Rear tailgate hinged upwards or sideways or split in half clamshell style...was his partypiece when anyone asked him about the car

No wasn't that one, this one was in the Hastings area, and I think it was gold, certainly initially! I believe it ended up bright yellow! Means Ford must have sold at least two then!

Not engine parts, but I've got these lying around. They came with my Mk2 Escort when I bought it.

I think that they were made by Britax (according to the stickers that were on them) and I've never seen another set. Were these a common aftermarket part back in the day?

The front

And the back

This is what the front looked like when fitted.....The rear bar never got fitted.

Haven't got an escort now, so I don't really know why I'm hangin' on to them :?
