rob-loves-osf Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 well i dont work at the minute but. the road round where i live were gritted a few days ago and havent been back scince every road is really bad! i live looking down the street to the junction at the bottom which is a main road- constantly watching cars and vans spining and bouncing up kerb's - already had to change my dads lower arm as he hit the kerb and bent it, next door neighbours punto- bent hub and track rod ends were knackered too.. had to do that - good way of getting to know your neighbours seen as ive just moved here Rob take care out there
bortaf Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 About 10 mins longer (25 instead of 15) but for some reason the mile readings where a lot more

marky4 Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 took me nealy 5 hours to drive 12 miles got in at 8 o'clock tonight, what a fooking journey every road i took was iether solid with traffic or you got stuck in the snow so tried to find the flattest route possible as poxy fwd van just got stuck, had to dig myself out afew times then when near home the melted snow had turned into sheet ice how i managed to get home without being hit or without hitting any curbs or other cars is amazing
baz105e Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 if it takes you guys so long to get home from work then it my seem silly but why not leave the car on the drive and walk to work
Copey Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 home wasnt bad, bout same as norm, goin was bad though, over half an hour for a 5 min journey
Mr2Caps Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Got in at 9.00 left at 5.00 11 mile journey.......
rob-loves-osf Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Yeah true but in fairness they drive volvo's and saabs.. bomb proof motor's Rob;)
marky4 Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 if it takes you guys so long to get home from work then it my seem silly but why not leave the car on the drive and walk to work i need my van for work as it has all my tools in, did feel like parking it up on the way home and walking but in the morning all my tools would have been nicked
Copey Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 the people in Scandinavia and Canada would be laughing at you bitching about a little snow. who's bitching? its ace fun!! sideways all over the show, its a right giggle!
Mr2Caps Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 not bitching about the snow, just saying how long it took to get home! Problem we had here was it rained on the snow and created a sheet of ice, followed a BMW 3 series convertible auto which seemed to be impossible to steer, front wheels at all angles, bouncing in an out of the kerb, saw a guy walking up the road towards it and it slithered to a halt, the doris driver gets out, he gets in, and drives off down the road with no problems............nevermind only increased my journey time by 30mins whilst I was following........
Fiesta Steve Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 About 5 mins as i have a Discovery Land Rover for the win
missymoo 181 Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 2 hours for a 4 and a half mile journey, don't you just love the English weather and how the councils cope with it. I'm guessing the gritter drivers had some sort of crisis like running out of tea bags or biscuits so they refused to leave the depot??!
mk3cokebottle Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 lol you guys got it easy i left maidenhead at 4.45 and got home about 25mins ago !!! usually takes about 45 minutes proper pain in the arse
jimbo Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 Yeah true but in fairness they drive volvo's and saabs.. bomb proof motor's And they know how to drive in snow and ice. There's some right plebs out on our roads. My missus left Watford at 4.10 and got to Berkhamsted (12 miles) at 6.30. I met her off the train, which was 50 minutes late 'cos of points failure. We had dinner at a pub, and left at 7.30. It then took 3 hours to drive 5 miles, cos of a load numpties that can't drive up a hill....F*ckwits! Oh! It normally takes an hour.......
over_head_cam Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 I never moan about the snow, or worry about driving in it. It's all those fookers that are in my way that need shooting Took me 4 hours from Leatherhead to Croydon. It only took me half an hour to get to Epsom Downs and 3 1/2 hours the rest of the way THEN I had to put a headlight in the van and swap all the tools back. Just finished my dinner ding
