I know a few people ( not friends really ) who class any ford made upto the year 2000 as an old skool ford :x

Then when I try to explain what is OSF, they look at me as if i've escaped from somewhere and begin to argue the case that a Escort Cosworth IS OSF :roll:

It just really gets on my wick when people dont even attempt to listen :evil:

does anyone else get like this, or is it just me?? :lol:

steve ( proper OSF driver :thumbsup::lol: )

Doesn't really bother me, I like what I like and they can do the same. It's up to them to interpret what they think is old school................but up to us on to determine what is old skool on here.

i wouldnt say stuff like escy cosworths are osf but i think they will be a classic in their own right in yrs to come, it annoys me when someone has a newish car and takes it to a show for example a focus rs , anyone can polish a new car and take it to a show and show it off but whats actually good bout that, whereas something like a mk1 / 2 escort tina etc etc thats had time and effort spent on it deserves to be there ,

suppose it all comes down to defining old skool , people will see it in all diff ways i guess

Dont get me wrong, I like escort Cosworths ( well all cosworths ) I think they have a cult following ( like RST's & XR's ) it's just I would'nt call them old skool.

I've nothing against new fords ( I also have a M0nde0 ST220 as a weekend car along with the Capri and I bloody love it ) I just get a bigger buzz from what I call a 'proper car', OSF 8)

I would actually say that an Escort Cosworth is old skool. Only in in the way that its a 4WD 2.0ltr turbo charged beast and is basically the 'oldskool' equivalent of a Evo or subaru.

But no, its not an oldskooford, but i dont have a problem with it being called old skool when parked up next to a subaru.

I used to think my Capri was old skool. Then I got a mk3 Cortina, I thought that was old skool till I got my Anglia :lol:

Don't get me wrong they are old skool compared to most cars, but compared to the 50's/60's fords they're bloody luxury cruisers :lol:

I think some people are confusing Old Skool with classic. It would annoy me too....

or even iconic, not sure I would class an escort cosworth as a classic personally, but its definately iconic, same with the Lotus Carlton.......

The cosworths are definately classics but if you line an escort cosworth up with a modern ford, does it look that different?

No. I love the more modern fords, but they're nowhere near as good as the capri's and cortina's.
