mk1fez Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 right, as some of you know, i bought a cherry bomb ealrier this week, it arrived to day, so i took it for a day trip to the local MOT station .... after 10 mins and a quick read through his rules/regulations/facts/book thing, we found out that any exhaust system on a car must be of a similar noise barrier to a car of the certain age, so in this case, the cherry bomb cant go on the fiesta is this true? my grandad's gonna get in touch with a few policemen he knows and see what they sey, so its fingers crossed, really what's your opinions on this?

'Similar', what makes you think its going to be loud ?, are removing other boxes ??

I think the car mot has always said that but I have never known an mot tester to take any notice. I for one will continue to use fook off loud exhausts and they will keep going through mot's

The problem was mis-communication there. Your nice mellow exhaust made him horny and he wouldn't be able to control his animal urges next time

I for one will continue to use fook off loud exhausts and they will keep going through mot's mine is loudish... it goes through MOT's every year . the twin 45's are loud! the exhaust is louder... but not by much, so to be honest, to anyone its louder than it was when it was produced. by quite a bit. dont worry about it, if you are still running a centrebox, just the rear box as a glasspack will not make it TOO noisy. increase exh flow and power a little, i'd do it, its not hard to change it back over if you do get caught. mine is a glasspack+centrebox and i have had no problems with cops, just dont floor it past em!

birdy Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Strait through three inch system with two silencers, been through an mot with no problems for the last ten years. make your own mind up, too loud ? i think not, loud pipes save lives.
