glenbo Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 took us about 25 mins to get in,not to bad, took my own sandwiches apart from my dad buying egg and bacon rolls, cheers dad had two track times thanks to rick (mk2 mania) was great fun but have to have eyes in the back of your head as some other drivers dont give a toss, think i will stick to santa pod
Big_man Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Looks like breakin down on the way there saved me a bit of cash then (luckily only 2 miles from my house)
dave waudby Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 dick turpin wore a mask like it its always dear/crap food there
SebringRS Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Was a good show, deffo too much plastic, but will probs still go next year And ye from the stands looked pretty scary out on track, especially with them Exiges cuttin everyone up
lurch914 Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 i got stuck in the traffic on the a43 1 1/2 miles from the junction at 8.00 got through the gate at about 9.30, overheated 3 times luckily a few people gave us there water, as for the food it was stupid i brought 5 icecreams came to £14, had a good day though, we had some lovely cars on the stand
rsdaz Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 there was a bit too much plastic there but i thought it was a really good show, good track action and i thought the classic ford stand had some stunning cars on it.
deltamal Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Deffo too long to get in there! the fan was on for 40 mins, as said, the food was too expensive and not good, on the pluss side there were some nice cars there, and met up with some old friends, won't go next year though.....
banarama Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 thats why i never went this year/piss takers with food and drink. leave it to the plastic boys
banarama Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 That's why we got there late £3.50 for 2 teas i reckon this show is a no go for us next year fooking joke. Sorry for to a couple of peps that where waiting for there stand passes as soon as i got there i left them with Gary the guy in the blue mk1 with the v8 in i quite agree with you there robbing basterds
RossMK2 Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 i enjoyed the show thought it was good the problem is people who dont go means there less osf's to look at which means there will be more plastic
ratman Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Havent been for the last two years due to all the above
John Hargreaves Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 I had a great day, probably cos I had a moment of good sense and brought some sarnies and a flask. Food at these shows is always horrible and prices take the piss. Drove down from Yorkshire, came buttock clenchingly close to overheating in the three miles of first gear on the dual carriageway outside, but got in ok. It's the first time I've joined you guys on an OSF club stand, and I have to say I was made to feel really welcome by those I chatted to. Particular thanks to Tom sebringRS and posse for looking after my gear while I was out on track. Everyone was helpful and friendly and I had some good chats (over the sound of the funfair). Managed not to dump it in the gravel at brooklands in front of an audience, avoided anything hard fast and made of metal out on track, picked up some goodies at the autojumble and made it back up the M1 in time for a bath and a beer. Happy days. cheers lads
ADY Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Got to say I agree with you guys on the prices, but there is a good trade section. Just a bit disappointed that rally design wasn't there, was looking forward to buying some bits.
FredTransit Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 sounds like we need a classic ford fair ? Now THAT is a damn good idea. It's the plastic that puts me off too.
