Tall paul Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 I now know why I stopped going after I last went in 03. Not for me, won't be going next year or the one after, I'll save my pennies for CFS. Was it just me or was the autojumble really poo? Plus the prices of things, £65 for a pair of alloy RS mounts? £80 for a set of RS clocks! I've seen them go on eBay for less!
4DOOR-SHERWOOD Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 I must say that i had a pretty good day but wont bother next year. We took food etc with us as it can be dear at the big events. just to many focus etc for me, prefer smaller gatherings and real cars!
Savvi Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 The prices were labelled expensive, i found that i managed to haggle a good price for the bits i bought and it seemed the traders were expecting it. I went to buy some 1/4 bumpers from Roy Nunn, at Cf they were £100 he wanted £120 at FF and would not haggle ............... so i didn't buy the 2 sets i had intended to for my van, he also had a retangled front panel for £90, i got one for £40, he was the only one that wouldn't have a deal though. Shame cos he had some nice stuff on show, but obviously doesn't need to sell his stock.
tim Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 sounds like we need a classic ford fair ? isnt that at santa pod and called classic ford show
ox Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 surley the size of the club wee could have a show at another race course that would let the lads/ladeis play and show area for the cars. from wot ive read on thiss site and others they r takin the pxxs i love my old cars and amercian muscle and some new they all take l/c to bui;ld along with a grinder and big hammer it seems like all they intrested in is money we provide the entertainmet and they get rich i bet rockenham would be intresded if you wonted stay this way but their plenty others too chose i wont go next year rant over
MK2 Harrier Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Only went to FORD TURBO PLASTIC SHOW to go on the track
brettp Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 cf show is great but ford fair has the track used to love it but last few times i went it was rows and rows of focus rs s and yes you can ignor them but then it makes it a bit point less going i think watching people blasting round the track in there cars is what made it for me i think cf show proves theres the numbers for an event based on classic ford s maybe at a smaller track like brands
tim Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 how many people have emailed ian.cruickshank@futurenet.com if we all email him, then there a chance somthing might change
ratman Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 sounds like we need a classic ford fair ? isnt that at santa pod and called classic ford show And each year that gets more & more Plastic

RossMK2 Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Food was really pricey one stand wouldnt do me a breakfast barm cos they said it was to late Mcds do later £7.20 was the dearest i found and wtf would anyone want to look at a c-max and a galaxy what a waste of space those to stands were at least all the classic stuff worth looking at was pretty central, Great weekend, all in all i was the young one who put me hand up on the roundabout over first bridge when you were leaving
PaulMags Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 how many people have emailed ian.cruickshank@futurenet.com if we all email him, then there a chance somthing might change I doubt it mate i complain every year about the prices they charge it goes in one ear and out the other.you seen the size on my pitch it cost me £200 and he reckond he done me a good deal.I no it costs them alot to rent the place but if they kept there prices down alot more people would turn up to the event and you'd get alot more traders aswell.
tim Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 if the people who make up the show got a better deal on entry tickets, the show would be a better show drawing more people through the door makin them more money, a few years ago i looked into the cost to hire silverstone, summer time with the full tract with somthing like 50-60kplus vat they said last year they have 17695 people through the gate X that by £14 a person that mkes £247,730 i know there a hell of alot more to it that than
mk2dk Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 Where at FordFair too, and must admit the prices choked us a bit. Was there at 8.45, bought 2 tickets, but took almost an hour to get over the bridge, as they only opened one small gate. Been to FF 5 times and always enjoyed it, but must admit this year we were dissapointed, too much plastic and boom boom boom-music. Never found the rolling-road or 0-60. Great to see the cars from the site though.
caprinerd Posted August 10, 2010 Report Posted August 10, 2010 went in 2008 and aint been back and never will
Mr Day Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Been going for years but after last year i said it'd prob be my last, went this year and it will be my last, the prices to get in the place and have some food are just crazy and after seeing nothin but chav'd up mondeo's,mk6 escorts etc or focus rs's i just dont think its worth it anymore!
escort21 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 Whats all the moaning about, i agree with the food prices being shit but its called 'FORD FAIR' which means any ford can turn up. If you dont like it dont go

JP. Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 Whats all the moaning about, i agree with the food prices being shit but its called 'FORD FAIR' which means any ford can turn up. If you dont like it dont go Went over from Holland for the 11th time in a Capri and enjoyed it. We'll be back for a 12th time next year. Where in at 7am, brought our own drinks and food ( bought at Sainsburrys ) with us and left at about 17.30. Yess there's lots of plastic but if we all stay away with our old skool Fords there will be only plastic in the future and then those younghsters won't even recognice what heritage we have. I was there and even showed that oldies could be relaible. It was a 1000mile trip. So stop moaning.
tim Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 its not the fact there 2 much plastic at the show, there just not enough classics there. ive put 3 things to them 1 is cheaper tickets,2 to help aviod cars over heating have a classic only lane and 3 put all the pre 1980s club togther to create a mini classic ford show with in ford fair. there reply, tickets are discounted already they will look at the entry lane thing and they wont put the clubs togther as people like to see new and old next to each other
Admin Vista Posted August 12, 2010 Admin Report Posted August 12, 2010 there reply, tickets are discounted already they will look at the entry lane thing and they wont put the clubs togther as people like to see new and old next to each other Discounted from what?? The way FF is going, there won't be any classics there at all in a few more years.
tim Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 the great saving of £2 club ticket £14 and normal advance ticket is £16 id give it 3 years till its called fast ford rather than ford fair
