mk1rob
Hi! Im thinking of selling the escort It needs some bodywork doing but i dont have the time or know-how to do it myself or the money to get someone to do it for me. It would take ages to save up enough aswell and im not very good at saving money! Trouble is i have no idea what its worth which is where you might be able to help? Its just bubbling up abit on the rear arches, bottom of the passenger door, front of both wings and abit on the outer sills. There the bits that are going to de-value it i think. Its basically a '71 (tax free) RS2000 replica. Spec: -Standard 2L Pinto -Type 9 5 speed -Single piece prop -Anti tramp bars -Panhard kit - -2" blocks with single leaf springs -2.4 quickrack steering -Stainless manifold-back exhaust All the rest of the mods can be seen from the pics below: Thanks in advance for any rough ideas on what its worth! mk1rob
Seems this thread is only going one way! Took the car to a reputable body shop today to get a rough idea on what it would be to repair. Didnt really get a straight answer but they said looking at it, it would likely 'open a can of worms' They did say dont sell it tho as its a good investment. Still undecided on what to do. I guarantee it Agreed I'd 3rd that statment Same here. You will regret selling, and if you think you won't be able to afford the repairs, you will NEVER be able to afford another. Is that what you want? Never have another Mk1?
H.P.E harry
I think if your really into your car then you should save up the money to get it done no matter what the cost is, it does look really nice in the pics, i was expecting a half rotted away shell the way you was going on
mk1rob
Cheers for all the replies! It does look better on the pics than it actually is tho. Think ill probably keep it for the time being then and try harder to get some money together. Dont want to rush into selling it. Im in Lincoln. Best place i know of round here is probably Prepfab. They do a good job but at a good price too Willing to try anywhere with recommendation?
