I´ve always loved the shape of a mk1 Escort. I remember dreaming of owning one since I was maybe 7 or 8 years old :D I found some old magazines from seventies and there were pics of mk1 Zakspeed escorts etc.. So, when I was 18 and had my license, I bought one, it was a 1300 ´74, onyx green and imported to Finland from Norway! Christ it was bad! It was so rotten, that your shoes were soaking wet when ever it rained, and if you lifted the carpets you could see the road :D But, I loved it and I think I´ve ever driven so much sideways than I used to do with it. It ended up in the ditch wheels up, but I repaired it back to road.

And of course the mk1 Cortina, now I own one. My dad use to have one, it was light blue with matt black bonnet and checkered mud flaps  And it had 1500 engine with forged pistons and a rally cam, it was fast back then. I have tried to locate it, but unfortunately it seems to be long gone, Finnish trafic agency does not have any info about it with its license plate, so it must have been scrapped ages ago.

Since my early twenties, I always wanted a well sorted Anglia van and a nice Cossie powered Mk1 Escort but could'nt afford em back then....I guess getting older does have some advantages

I also longed for a 2.8i Capri after driving an early 4speed version when I was just 18 (it seemed really quick) When I eventually bought my first one aged approx 25, I found it a little disapointing in the performance department...still nice cars tho & I've owned a couple more 2.8i specials since.

Had my first Mk2 RS2000 when I was just 21

What I have ultimately always longed for is something Group B shaped. At some point in the future I may sell up everything (exept my house) to fund buying something

I had a Mk1 escort at 14, just fell in love with it, engine blown and guy wanted £40, i'd saved my paper round money for something else but bought it anyway, my brother had got me a Mk2 Cortina GT from a guy at his work for £20, it was rotten so i put the engine in the mk1 and kept it til i was 19 ...........

Had plenty since, i used to go to work in my Dads Mk1 company van (brand new in 1971) and loved it ........... always promised i'd have one .......which i do now, just a shame it was too late for him to see it ...........

Also wanted a 105E anglia after a guy in the village had one when i was about 16 or 17 just loved seeing it go up the high street ................ bought one a couple of years ago and although liked it, felt was too small for me

My main problem is i want all of the old Fords until i have them, then i want something else, i just enjoy buying them working on them, but not really driving them too much

i got brought up round old cars. mum use to have a red consul

(mk1 granada shape) my stepdad was into banger racing/grasstrack so mk1 escorts were always around. so thats what i wanted mk1 2 door escort. ive had one since 2004. then couple of years ago we went up to yorkshire to pick up my parents mk3 zodiac. then that got me away from escorts. so i now have a mk3 zodiac as well and ive always wanted a mk1 granny coupe but got a hearse instead :mrgreen: but hearse,s are realy cool any way in my book. but touching on what savvi put if i could i would have a lot of retro cars inc fords but also a lot of non fords

ok, difficult one! when I was young my mum and dad had a mk1 cortina, was only a year or so old, this was the start of my ford obsession! As I grew up we had various fords, my dad had a MK3 cortina and MK3 escort as company cars, we had mk1 escort estate, etc etc we even head a rally prepped 105e which I remember very well as when me and my dad went out in it I used to have to hold it it 3rd for him because otherwise it would jump out! this would be while we were hurtling round bends on 3 wheels! :D , but I was into the group b rally cars big time so for me if I had enough money it would have to be an RS200 8)
