ZetecVan 2.0 Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 I'm sat in Manchester at the moment with the office getting battered with wind and rain. The trip down the m62 was scary to say the least, with standing water ON THE HILLS!
Twinkle Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 very windy here, the wind has tried blowing the car cover off the escort and ripped it to shreds
oxb1l Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 SNOW IN STIRLING BUT ITS LIKE THE CARS NOTHINGS AS GOOD AS IT USED TO BE IT'LL BE SLUSH BY TONIGHT . BILL
Admin Mk2Jo Posted January 18, 2007 Admin Report Posted January 18, 2007 It's a bit blowy here but nothing drastic .... no trees down on the way to work. Although 20 miles away in Southsea they have had 99 mph winds .... reckon Emu had a dodgy drive to work today then
Cookie Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Blowing proper gales down here (Cardiff way) Just got in from work and sat at light at end of my street and the mondeo was getting blown side to side like a good un, glad i was'nt in a hight top van or wagon A bit worried as to whetjer the roof is still on my workshop, was only staying on with all the crap I have thrown on there in the first place!
orionmojo Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 yup. the works car was struggling down the bypasses. it was being thrown all over the place aquaplaining under braking too. te tyres are mint
Burns Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 yeah, got woken up at 4am with the wind and rain (and single glazing) stopped raining but still bloody windy
Daveyboy20 Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 The wind is ridiculas here, theres wheelie bins all over the place fences across the road. Wsa trying to solve a problem on siters car and it was blowing round on the jack scared the hell outta me! My drivers mirror nearly blew off when i drove down to the beach this morning to watch the waves it smacked fully oin the wrong direction! Im staring paranoid at next doors tree that stands over my flimsy garage that holds not only my Capri but every single spare i own! if i jumped on the roof it would fall down let alone have a tree fallin on it! Its geting worse as im typing too just had to rescue ythe garden table from flying off! put it upside down.
MK5 Posted January 18, 2007 Author Report Posted January 18, 2007 was OK here first thing, but its getting very windy now
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Oh yes, it is kicking off big time here in the mountains of SE London. Trouble is, my Anglia is parked under our metal framed car port which, well to be honest, doesn't look like it will last another windy spell. Better get my car out of there
Admin Mk2Jo Posted January 18, 2007 Admin Report Posted January 18, 2007 We've just had the power go off 5 times ... each time it has happened just as I have loaded the damn programmes on my pooter at work
lotusless Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 im on the south coast + my garden shed is now in next doors garden!! broke away + took off, nothing valuable in it thank god.

Wessie Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 trees were blocking roads everywhere adn i got home to find my ducks and chickens slightly 'windswept'
Posse Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 One of the my fence panels got blown over House is still here tho.
RFChris Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Well, i work in Bristol centre at the mo, on the site of the old Bristol and West building. For you non-bristolians, thats a 17 story derelict building with no walls. We were working right next to it when... ....ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss BLAM! As a chunk of building hit the floor next to us after its 17 story leap. Nice. Its also got a tower crane bolted to it at the mo. Today, about 2pm... ...crrrrrrrrrrrrCLANG... WTF! That'll be the brace holding the crane to the building at the 14th floor snapping. So the crane was waving about in the wind, a 125meter tall crane mind. Its still being fixed back as we speak. Fooking weather. Oh, and its blown my garage door off. Joy.
Mr.Sumo Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 Drove up to Huntingdon ( again ) today ...6 1/2 tonne Aircraft engine on , no probs in the wind......until i unloaded Spent hour trying to tie the curtains on the trailer back against the rear doors , got whacked in the face by the curtain poles twice ( fookin hurt ) , got a max speed of 35 mph going along the A140 back to Huntingdon ...then spend the next 2 hours hanging on to the steering wheel for grim death incase the fookin truck went over Oh , and counted 4 artics on there side on the A1 , 2 on the M25....and the remnants of one on the hard shoulder being cleared up .... gotta love the British weather
Twinkle Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 chris how can you have a 17 story building with no walls? surely the roof would hit the floor or is it really really long acrows holdin it up
