do the type 9 gearboxes from a pinto and a 2.8 capri have the same bellhousing?, im planning to bolt it to a zetec

 

I'm no engineer but it think the 2.8 is 'stronger' and has a bit you need to chop off.

 

Someone with a bigger 'car' brain than I will be along shortly.

No they are differant and the input shaft on a v6 box is longer as well and will need machining down to fit, if it is the H/D V6 box an RS B/H will not fit without modifying it to clear the H/D bearing cover.

The OP's question relates to the bell housing whereas the answers relate to the differences between the boxes.

 

Can anyone answer the OP's question about the Bell housing?

The bell housings have different engine bolt patterns, so no not the same. But then the gearbox input shafts are slightly different between pinto and 2.8 too as already explained.
