Arfur Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 South London Look = Kerime's Mk1 No idea on tyre size - I just think it has the look and I love it Perfick. Plus Kerime is dead nice, too.
texr2000 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 I remember Classic ford did a thing about South London Look Years ago.... What is peoples ideas of how it should look... other than tyre size OFC
PlopPlop Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 My Dad had a shop in south london for the last 30 years selling mk1 and 2 escorts and spares, and I can assure you that we could not keep up with the demand for 185/60/13s for every '1' escort that came to our shop with 175/50s or 205/60s we had '20' escorts come with 185/60s, I personaly sold hundreds of 185/60s, the south london look ws based on building cheap but fast old fords with parts that we could get from breakers hence standard lookin cars in original colours slammed on 13s, I remember it like yesterday it was my job
mr zefect Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Where was the shop loacated bud. Ps i do remember firestone 185/60s were very dangerous in the wet there was lots of osf s lost in the wall at the bottom of sutton back in the day cos of them.
rallyesport04 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Second that, Get it done. For me. I don't care about what look means what or whatever. All I need to worry about is "Do I like that?". All our cars are extensions of ourselves and we all modify them to make them suit us. And its like art its all about perspective and opinion. Personally. I love them slammed, jacked up, on 15s, on 13s, Oldskool powered, Jap powered. Its all about what ticks the boxes. Pretty much the same as asking Are you a leg, boobs or bum man? All I know is Old Skools Rool and as long as the owner likes their car everyone else can sex and travel. personaly i like nice handfull of tits an a tight arse lol ohh an cossie mark1's

Admin Vista Posted March 16, 2011 Admin Report Posted March 16, 2011 Can you add "not bothered" to the poll Scott? ;) I could add the 175/70's that I'm going to be sticking with whatever the outcome
green 59 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 catford kev is wrong , 60 was always the way pirelle or firestones nuff said wayne definately 185x60s,was the original oldskool south london look, 175x50s wasnt available back then.
D-FENS Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Can someone post a photo of the same model of OSF with both these sizes of tyre, and put them side by side or one above the other ,so i can compare please.
Slammed Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Id say that proper old south london look was 185 60s or 195 55s if you could get hold of them on a very very low anglia/cortina/escort ect normaly in primer and a bit tatty cos no one could aford shiny paint and it was all about building a car for a bit of fun that was quick for pocket money i remember it sounds sad but we had fu** all money driving around tyre shops and looking at scrap tyres when they were shut and looking for barely legel 185/60s cos they were so expensive as for 175/50s if they were more avalable then we would of fitted them i spose. i 110% agree with ya mate!(im pretty much doing the exact same thing shitty paint slammed etc.. 20 yrs on!swear i am born in the complete wrong era) i vote 185/60s for original south london look, with a slammed osf on 185/60;s it fills the arch gap more , thus giving a more lower look, i think anyway
jayson2.3pinto Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 any one keeping count? only kev poor old fella
