Mad Mex Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 175 50 13 all day....saying that mines rolling on 185 60s at the moment coz they was on some alloys i bought and are virtually new...but ill soon kill em and get me rubber bands on there
mk1super Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 Rubber bands and mk1 of everything is the best Mk2 s an onwards are poor runners up
w p e Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 catford kev is wrong , 60 was always the way pirelle or firestones nuff said wayne p6.s660 p6 for the richer type s660 for the lower race i had and still have some on me chrome rostyles down me lockup. must be worth a fortune now. looks like this could cary on a while but there seems to be a majority heading towards need i say --- 6- --
banarama Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 maybe 50,s on rear 60,s on front debate over may be:thumbsup:
rsdaz Posted March 13, 2011 Report Posted March 13, 2011 I swapped my 50's for 60's on my mk1 even though I didn't think it looked as good but I thought it would help with ground clearance, but all I got was massive side wall flex which felt crap when cornering hard so I changed back to 50's. I would rather run my car low and scrape the ground than run 60's again and as for the poor motorway gearing I just changed the diff ratio to suit.
zetecmk2 Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 personally, i think 175/50's are a tad to small on a mk2 tina.....even a slammed one, because of the size of the wheelarch......i've got 175/50's on kooltina because they're free but in my sig, she's wearing 175/55/13's by avon looks the tits! (it's the bewbush look)
442 Posted March 14, 2011 Report Posted March 14, 2011 Im running 175 50's on 7.5 x 13 banded steelies as 185 60's rubbed on the arches on lock but also looked too chunky imo!! Agree with rsdaz, droppin diff ratio better than sidewall flex!!! If the sparks dont fly it rides too high Do we dare start a debate on 4 and 5 speed boxes..............next debate lol
Admin Mk2Jo Posted March 14, 2011 Admin Report Posted March 14, 2011 South London Look = Kerime's Mk1 No idea on tyre size - I just think it has the look and I love it
Admin Vista Posted March 14, 2011 Admin Report Posted March 14, 2011 So what I've learnt from this debate so far is that the young team from South London only need small rubbers whereas the older boys need to use bigger ones?

EscortHeadCase Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Second that, Get it done. For me. I don't care about what look means what or whatever. All I need to worry about is "Do I like that?". All our cars are extensions of ourselves and we all modify them to make them suit us. And its like art its all about perspective and opinion. Personally. I love them slammed, jacked up, on 15s, on 13s, Oldskool powered, Jap powered. Its all about what ticks the boxes. Pretty much the same as asking Are you a leg, boobs or bum man? All I know is Old Skools Rool and as long as the owner likes their car everyone else can sex and travel.
