This was a regular meet that was organised by Darren with Ace Cafe a few years ago. Many of us had stopped going to the meets but the regular monthly meet continued using the Old Skool Ford name

From what i remember, the meet at the Ace cafe for old skool ford was started by Darren, but after an admin meeting (some time ago now) it was decided we would no longer carry it on, because of lack of numbers and none of the admin at the time, were able to attend, i think Darren did try to speak to whoever it was in charge at the time to cancel the night, but fell on deaf ears, so as far as im aware it is nothing to do with the website, Maybe Darren can shed more light on it later

I suggest making it clear wherever possible that this meet had nothing to do with us and was discontinued by this website several years ago. Going from the above, it was the Ace Cafe themselves that continued to use the name.

for those who don't know what happened.. some people started throwing rocks/bricks at police cars, as a result they called down at least 20 cars/vans with dogs and a mini riot started! not cool!! resulted in at least 20 people being nicked and ace cafe having to close for at least 2 weeks, so if you wer planning to go anytime soon doesnt look like thats gonna happen!

i dont see one osf in any of those pics this has not been an "oldskoolford" supported night for years! thats just great WE get the blame even if we have nothing to do with it as was said the ace cafe were using our name to promote their own night really so how is that our fault.

Make sure you correct any statements about it being an officially sanctioned OSF meet. Let's not have the blame attributed to us when it's been nothing to do with us for years.

This is serious shit! Was this last night? We passed by on the 406 and saw the blue lights, didn't know it was that serious! Is there any legal recourse for the Ace just going ahead and continuing using the name? After all this looks very bad for this forum/club.

Previously when I attended the Ace I saw similar cancellation notices for other club nights, and my immediate thoughts were 'can't happen to OSF, we are not like that'......

The police being there 1st time id of said would be to calm the over enthusiastic driving down........but none of the main things that caused it to be cancelled after last night was to do with the driving aspect

i went to the pre 84 meet a couple of times last year and it was really nice with little to no tomfoolery and lots of OSF

 

went last month (first time i have managed to talk the mrs into coming) and i was a lot less pre 84 Fords and a hell of a lot more modern stuff and other makes doing stupid things and loads of people lining the street around the roundabout

 

i even posted on here the next day saying i can't see it being allowed to carry on like that for long - looks like i was right

 

can't say i ever noticed it being promoted as old skool ford, just pre 84 but i just looked on their site and it does use our name - boo!

 

hope it doesn't mess the whole place up because i love it
