I got half way there and realised only 2 of pedals actually do the job they are supposed to. The middle one has decided not to stop the bloody thing!!!! There is nothing but slopes and hills round here, it's a good job I didn't have to venture down hill, just the odd slope. Getting her back down my alleyway was fun though, and the handbrake now works alot better

Messenjah Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 my cpari did that to me last week driving along brakes fine carrie don driving still fine get onto a nice long straight bit of dual carriageway nobody around more importantly no police ot be seen anywhere ... foot down coming up to the roundabout at the other end ... no brakes shit shit shit down thru the gears onto the roundabout still going about 30 luckily it was about 5 in the mornign and there was hardly anyone around still almost went into the back of a bmw had to stee round it and onto the roundabout flashers going and horn going too just to let ppl know there was something amiss lol followed by a very slow drive to the garage to say u fixed my wheelbearings yesterday and now i have no brakes

LOL, I suspect it's the master cylinder Neil, so I will be putting in an order with you within a month or so for some master cylinders and wheel cylinders if you do them! It was fine last week, I don't know, it is probably best it did it now and not after I have fitted my Fire Breathing, Tarmac Melting 1300

john_3.0s Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 i had my mk1 granny ones fail on a min roundabout once - u should ahve seen the look on the fella in the fiat tipo as I came piling towards him side on! luckily he got a move on and i just missed him. was fun drivng home thouugh 1.5 ton + auto box + dualcarridge way roundabouts = brown pants
