bashbymk2 Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 Anyone see the poor chap who's bonnet flipped up leaving? (apologies I know it's a well know car etc but don't know name! ) Hope everything is ok
jamie Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 Great show and great photos there. Top day out for us Suffolk boys. Really enjoyed it, as Putner said, first trip to the Wingspan for us. Every car looked spot on with a great atmosphere. Journey and convoys there and back were spot on too. Loads of pics coming soon (I got around half the cars but sadly my memory card became full). Thanks for organising.
ilovegrannys Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 First time at the Wingspan, cracking day and thanks to the organiser and pleased to chat with various faces old and new!

DAZZA Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 Turned up late but manged to see a few leaving....... ...........hooligans
Burt Reynolds Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 Lovely pics. Nice to meet up with ya Col. Yeah me and scott walked around the show and at around midday we went over to have a gander at Darrens old motor. His is the orange MK1 Escort with the union jack painted on it. Anyway i spoke to the new owner and said 'is that a wrap on the bonnet?', he said 'nah mate it's air brushed on'. I sh*t you not i then said, 'cor imagine if that gets damaged your in a whole world of pain'.....poor f*cking bloke...as the cars were leaving later in the afternoon there were people pulling wheelspins out of the show and he pulled a wheelspin flew up the road and the bonnet wasn't clipped down . The bonnet flew up in the air landing on the ground with a smash. It was painful to see and not one person in the whole of the crowd laughed... Luckily though the bonnet flew up in the air and appeared to have cleared the Escort landing on the floor behind it, also it didn't hit anyone and finally I think he's really lucky this didn't happen on a main road or motorway while he was coming home. I hope the damage aint too bad mate i think the whole crowd, myself included really felt for ya.

BudgieV8 Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 Mmmm.... First time we have been to this meeting. Very good setup & facilities, met lots of good people. Good pics. Family Fun-Day event, children & animals in attendance. Everyone happy However: - Burnouts , irresponsible driving , bits flying off cars that should have been fixed properly & could have injured a child/animal - not impressed. Stuff like this gets car clubs banned from venue's. Its not clever...........

Mrs O/H/C Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 Burnouts and bits flying off happened away from main attraction. So away from children / animals . If you choose to be at the gate to watch then you knowingly accept the risks
BudgieV8 Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 You miss my point. We had (luckily) left before this happened. Even if we had still been there, I would have raised the same concern. Burnouts shouldnt happen anywhere near this sort of event as it is surrounded by 'Sunday Shoppers' with their children in tow & Joe Public are VERY happy to ban car clubs (remember the warnings OSF have received for 'issues' at Boxhill over the years). More to the point... Very good show, crackin' weather, top-class cars, even better people... Looking forward to the next one! Big Thankyou to the organisers!
Del.anglebox Posted September 10, 2012 Author Report Posted September 10, 2012 I agree with all you say budgie, we don't want to loose this venue its a great place to meet for and a catch up.
