Just wondered how many people have silly little niggly annoying bits wrong with there car, you know that rattle or knock you never seem to fix or the weeping thermostat housing you never get round to do or the bit of trim your forever popping back on?

Every time it rains, bailing water from out of the floor pans!

is it pikey that i hammered a screw driver throught my floor after finding 2 inches of water??

Last thing to try is seal the windowscreen rubber from under the dash .... then I'm definitely drilling a hole!

got a feeling this is going to be a long thread!

passenger door - handle has lost it's thread so i can't get it to attach tightly, the window winder rattles a lot and the weather strip won't stay down when the window gets wound up and down

carpet doesn't seem to be quite wide enough to fit under the metal strips that run under the doors so they never stay

centre console is just a bit too far away from the bottom of the dash panel for my liking (due to the 5 speed coming out a couple of incheds further back)

steering wheel has just recently started creaking a bit - no idea why, it was on there for a year or so without doing it

dashboard - i have to tap the rev counter everytime i start the car to make it work and the light is incredibly dim

water is getting in somewhere (i suspect this will be the major niggle for most of us)

i also suspect rust bubbles coming through will be a major niggle and mine has plenty of those (despite mine having a full respray about 3 years ago)

there are loads more but that'll do for now

I actually pretty much am happy with mine.......apart from lol

Not having the time or money to get the box changed, replace master and slave cylinder, dawn good service and tune

Oh and topping out at about 60mph on the motorway

Wings aren't fitted right, starting to niggle me now.

The hole I found after previous owner assured me all welding had been done.

Front right brake chirps when they get warm.

I'm too old and wide for bucket seats. And I don't need them.

Poor paint job

Still love it though, no more issues than my Passat has.

I am currently building mine. Already I can see imperfections. However it's 36 yrs old and like me it has its faults but I love the imperfections and the Oldskool engineering that's one thing that makes them attractive. :ykt:

On the mk1 tina, the nsr door rattles very loudly ,I think its on the catch.

On the mk2 tina, the axle is bent after I spent loads redoing the slipper with

Gartrac internals, and the engine don't run cos I sold the new Dta ecu

to fund the axle,lol.

puddy :D

Dont have one right now but my old Mk1 Escort had a few live with issues...

Passenger quarter light was perspex, passenger window didnt close all the way, was always half and inch gap.

Passenger footwell used to fill with water, stabbed a hold through the floor to let it out again.

Took the wing off to do the A post and headlamp surround, tacked it back on to do more later...never did so top was held behind the bonnet hinge with mole grips and the bottom edge by the wind as I drove it :D

Only a couple for me

Wipers are sh#t in the rain so slow compared with modern cars

the rose joint gear lever that rattles i drive with my leg against it on long journeys

and lastly the last time i went out in the rain in was lashing down and water got into eletrics (think fuses) and lights / wipers started to play up had a nightmare journey home in the dark

apart from that i'm very happy with it :D
