Brett Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 I recently bought a mk2 Escort 1600 2 door. Im thinking about either a 1600 Sport replica or a Mexico replica, Im getting the car delivered this week and cant wait to get to work. If anyone could give your opinions on what you think are the best looking Mk2's or post some pics for inspiration because at the moment i have too many ideas in my head for my first project! thanks -Brett
gearbox100 Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Just to be abit different i would do a white harrier rep i think, good luck with it anyway, looks good.
Brett Posted December 2, 2012 Author Report Posted December 2, 2012 Thanks for the replies, One of my ideas was a red mexico although with a black bonnet. I once saw a Dark gray harrier with the black and white decals instead of the blue and that looked nice.
Admin Vista Posted December 2, 2012 Admin Report Posted December 2, 2012 I would go your own way and see if you can come up with something no-one's done before.
Brett Posted December 2, 2012 Author Report Posted December 2, 2012 Yeah, ill fix the body work up and thatwill give me a while to ponder it
Tom E Cropp Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Looks like a good project mate! IMO round headlights are a must

Brett Posted December 7, 2012 Author Report Posted December 7, 2012 Dad wants to try keep it blue for the origionality. So i might do a blue 1600 sport replica because it is a 1.6 anyway.

Brett Posted December 9, 2012 Author Report Posted December 9, 2012 I have sourced a center console for $35 (plus shipping) and a Sports dash (ghia or rally pac version) with tacho for $100 plus shipping. Im just wondering if the sports dash will plug straight into the car and replace the stock instrument cluster that doesnt have a tacho gauge? -Brett
bigglesmk2 Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 I would go your own way and see if you can come up with something no-one's done before. My thoughts exactly.....Just keep it simple tho

You need to rearrange the wires in the two connectors and add a wire to the coil negative for the rev counter. Please refer to the "How to guides" room for a downloadable PDF on how to do this. You may have to substitute your original colours for the ones shown in it if your Aussie build looms don't have the same colour scheme.
Brett Posted December 9, 2012 Author Report Posted December 9, 2012 I found the guide! thanks mate that should make things easier providing the colours are the same.
oxb1l Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 I had a sport years ago that started off the same colour as yours with silver decals Bill
