Got done like that when we went to Brighton speed trials a few years ago.

Would have been cheaper to get a race entry !

Normally do the park and ride in Brighton, but they were using the stadium

Being a Brighton lad I know too well what the rates are like for parking in the city. I heard on the radio the other day that it is or one of the most expensive place to park in England. Me?? I have a traders permit. So I can park in pay and display or residents bays 7 days a week. Residents until 4pm and no limit on pay and display. The girlfriend dusnt know any of this soooo I don't get lumbered in going fooking shopping in Brighton. Sod that!:beer::thumbsup:

I can top that. Well not me personally but I knew of an NCP in central London on my patch. I used to do regular visits as it was getting spanked for thefts. Back in 2001 there was a brand spanking new Porsche 996 in there with no reg plates on it so it caught my attention. Upon closer inspection it was an American import, freshly brought over, still had the import and shipping labels from New Jersey on the screen. Not registered in the UK. Did a few checks both over here and the other side of the pond to make sure it wasn't stolen but it all seemed legit so I left it and carried on.

The last time I checked down there (around 2010) it was still there, in the same bay with 9 years of dust and grime on it, flat tyres etc. Hadn't been moved once in all that time. I spoke to the guy in the NCP office and he reckoned the outstanding parking fees would outweigh the cars current value.

(Although if it was me I'd buy an old banger for £50, drive in, get a ticket then drive out in the Porsche using the bangers ticket and pay for an hours parking). ;)

That's bizarre, who leaves a brand new 996 untouched in a public car park for 9 years? And why hadn't NCP had it removed in that time?

No idea? I thought it was iffy too hence why I checked it out. To be fair it wasn't a nice combo, dark blue paintwork with a orange interior, but still a nice car. The NCP bloke said they were looking at having it auctioned to recoup some costs. No idea what happened in the end though.

I did start to look into claiming it myself ( claiming an abandoned vehicle) but as it wasn't registered in the UK DVLA couldnt help. :/
