the tash Posted May 13, 2013 Report Posted May 13, 2013 Hia all I am building a mk2 escort and in the next few weeks will be looking to purchase hoses etc for fuel, brakes and hoses for the dry sump system. Which site is best for support and competitive prices. Thanks
Escort Mk1 4 Door Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 i used pirtek they come to you and make the hoses you need has them make a oil feed pipe for a focus turbo for 45 quid noone elese could do it under 60
deltamal Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 Iv'e used Teflon lined hoses for the fuel lines on mine, they stop the petrol smell in and around the car, bit more expensive but worth it!

You could DIY it for about £15. I've always made my own Brake, fuel and oil lines, stainless or Aluminium Aeroquip fittings and usually min. 50% cheaper than 'specialist' quotes and so much more satisfying!
GJUK Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 Not sure if some braided lines use rubber insides? Make sure you have really high quality lines or they will start to crack and leak.

frankthefencer Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 I used Torques off eBay . They do everything you will need . I used Teflon for brake and fuel lines and rubber for oil breathers. Nice stuff.
Admin Vista Posted May 14, 2013 Admin Report Posted May 14, 2013 +2, also used Torques for my Van build. The only issue I found with Torques teflon lined braided fuel hose is that it needs quite a wide bend radius or it will kink. You can get ribbed Teflon braided hose which is much more flexible, only I don't know where from (sorry)
nik_plant Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 I've used torques on ebay throughout the car on everything and all was spot on
rallyesport04 Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 use teflon for fuel as this new fuel eats rubber
Escort Mk1 4 Door Posted May 14, 2013 Report Posted May 14, 2013 ford wanted 60 odd plus the vat for the pipe and it didnt even fit right Someone saw you coming! You could DIY it for about £15. I've always made my own Brake, fuel and oil lines, stainless or Aluminium Aeroquip fittings and usually min. 50% cheaper than 'specialist' quotes and so much more satisfying!
